Missing Portage County Man Jul 1, 2006

Family members say they last saw 68-year-old Edward Czerwovy around noon yesterday at his home in Carson.
Saturday morning.. family, community members, and the Portage County Sheriff's Department were searching the area around his home.
Family members say it's unlike Edward to leave without telling anybody.
And.. they're extremely worried.
The Sheriff's Department says... Edward has access to a cabin up north in Oneida County.
But.. he would've had to have someone pick him up to take him there.
Deputies say they respond immediately to a missing person and take it very seriously.
That's why Saturday's search is a big step to help narrow down where Edward might be.
Today is more or less a precautionary search, we want to make sure that the person hasn't suffered some type of medical problem, and is on the property some place laying there in need of help."

Missing Since June 30, 2006

Edward Czerwony was 68 years old when he was last seen around 12:30PM on Friday, June 30, 2006. Edward's son Roger reported his father's disappearance after finding him missing from his home in the township of Carson, Wisconsin. He believed Edward would not have gone on a trip without informing his family of his intended destination.

Several law enforcement agencies conducted extensive land and aerial searches around his residence but nothing of note was discovered. Authorities have investigated all leads in Edward's disappearance and believe he may have left of his own accord. No foul play is suspected in his case, though his health and safety is of great concern.

He is 5'7" with salt and pepper hair and blue eyes. He may go by the name Ed or Eddie.

His son Roger moved the court to appoint him as a receiver for his dad’s property due to his disappearance. Wisconsin Circuit Court Access contains the case.

In 2003 & 2005, his son mark has two run ins with the law regarding drug possession. Same site can give details. Ed lived with Mike, another son.

I think the temporary roommate mentioned in the podcast is now deceased, Robert j. Ingersoll (if that is who they meant, he is deceased) and had battery and domestic abuse convictions. Ingersoll also had many thefts and drunk driving charges and was definitely in and out of trouble at the time. Same site as above and obituary, find a grave, and newspapers.

Some of you have asked about declaring a person deceased. In this case they appointed a receiver (someone who manages a party's interests when they are missing or otherwise cannot) In every jurisdiction I'm aware of, this requires a newspaper posting for a few weeks. Article ---> absence I don't know how far back that goes as a rule in Wisconsin, but at least here's an example. Might make looking for whether someone is declared deceased easier for old case files that aren't in CCAP.
