‘Come home, son:’ Loved ones continue to search for missing Madison man

Eric Boll’s mother TM describes her son Eric Boll as smart, kind and loving.

“He’s a super, super intelligent guy. He’s also really big hearted,” she said. “He was actually going to college before he was going to high school. He went to UW-Oshkosh with a double major... just a super intelligent guy. He came to Madison to do graduate work, and he really enjoyed it.”

The 32-year-old was last seen leaving his east side Madison residence on his blue e-bike. That was on August 23.

After searching nearly every park in Madison, the search expanded north to Devil's Lake State Park.

"Devil's Lake was one of the places that he really, really liked. He and his wife would camp here, hike here, and it was really an enjoyable time for him," Trisha Moehn, Boll's mother, said.

Moehn said that she has reason to believe her son may have been experiencing a mental health crisis, and that it's a possibility he hurt himself.

Boll is one of four siblings. In fact, he’s a quadruplet. Though, his parents say he is still uniquely one of four. During these tough times, they reminisce on all the qualities that make him special.

“As a little toddler, he just had this sparkle, devious, if you will. Very strongly opinionated, like the rest of his family, but you would never get a warmer hug,” Moehn said. “If he loves you, he loves you, and his hugs just can't be beat.”

The family is asking people in the Madison area to check green spaces, outbuildings or sheds near or on their property. The family is also asking that farmers and hunters keep an eye out during hunting and harvesting.

What is it about Devil's Lake and people in crisis? Between this and James....

Family and friends of a man missing from Madison’s East Side since August handed out fliers and t-shirts at the Capitol to bring attention to the continued search.

Eric Boll, 32, went missing Aug. 23 after leaving his home on an e-bike. It has been 46 days, and he has not been seen or heard from since. Family and friends are raising awareness on Facebook, with flier postings and word-of-mouth.

Tuesday, they took to the Wisconsin Capitol to continue spreading the word.

“The Capitol represents the city, and we’re asking for the city’s help, ” Boll’s mother Trisha Moehn said.

The family has posted a $12,000 reward for any tips or direction toward finding Eric Boll.

The Madison Police Department is asking hunters to be on the lookout for a missing man who last seen several months ago.

Eric Boll was last seen on August 24 riding his e-bike on the east side of Madison. Authorities said Boll has not been seen or heard from since.

MPD is asking hunters to keep an eye out for him as the nine-day gun deer season starts up this weekend.

How very sad. Thinking of his family, and hoping they get some closure and/or answers soon.

Mental health is such a very very tricky thing, and there are so many stressors affecting us all right now. My heart goes out to this guy and his loved ones; sounds like he was struggling.

Has anyone figured out any of his social media?
