Why didn't she ever see her mother or other relatives? Were neighbors aware she existed? Did anyone ever enter their home?

And how do you explain 4 adults all watching a child starve? Do they all have disabilities? Addictions? Was there a history with child protective services? I notice they all have dirty or torn clothing. Just an observation, because IDK what it means.

Autism is a HUGE spectrum and some people have very mild/subtle communication issues. Most people wouldn't know I was autistic if they only had a short conversation with me, for instance. Could be a similar situation with this girl.

Just as a comparison:

According to data from Cincinnati Children's Hospital and Stanford Medicine, a typical weight range for a 14-year-old female is between 84 and 160 pounds.

And based on the combined average weight of the adults in the home (guess), 4 x 200= 800, if they had divided the food equally, 800 ÷ 5, she should have weighed about 160.

Of course, this math has a lot of errors. But it does demonstrate the inequality of food distribution in the household. And I was being generous on estimation of the weight of the 4 adults in the home.

The girl was allegedly given limited bathroom access and forced to sleep on the floor. She was not allowed to speak, and if she did, it was to a camera that was set up in her locked bedroom, according to the filing. The cameras would allegedly monitor the girl like Big Brother.

Text messages revealed in the document showed the suspects told each other to 'only give her water at specific times,' and that 'she is not to be out of her room at all.' As well as other messages between each other that said to take the girl's mattress from her.

To be fair (and I hate having to be so with these people) physical handicaps can lead to obesity due to lack of ability to exercise and limited opportunities for any pleasurable activity other than eating. But it doesn’t seem to be the case here, at least with all of them.

11/22/25 Update on victim: Relatives of a 14-year-old girl who was found in her Outagamie County home weighing only 35 pounds want the community to know she is now safe & in good hands. The victim is staying with family on her mother's side after being released from the hospital several weeks ago. She has made significant progress in her recovery. The girl is now more than double her initial weight at 78 pounds, & has grown three inches in just a few months. According to the criminal complaint, the girl suffered from multiorgan dysfunction, including respiratory failure, cardiac dysfunction, severe acute hepatitis & pancreatitis.
