Found Deceased WI - Hamud Faal, 25, La Crosse, 21 Feb 2022

The La Crosse Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in locating a missing person: Hamud Faal (DOB: 12/02/1996), 25 yrs of age, was reported to police as a missing person on 2/21/2022.

Hamud is an African American male, 6’02”, 175lbs, black hair and brown eyes. Hamud was last seen wearing a light blue crew neck sweater, grey jeans, with black and white Vans tennis shoes. Police, Hamud’s family, and friends, have made several attempts to locate him with no success.

The Police Department has learned Hamud was last seen on Sunday morning, February 20th, 2022 at 3:37am walking alone southbound on Front Street just North of Jay Street.

If you live or work in this area and are aware of video/camera systems, please check to see if Hamud may have been captured on your video system.
We are also asking community members in this area to check your garages, storage areas and properties for Hamud. Hamud’s family, UWL Student Life and the La Crosse Police Department, continue to partner in the search for Hamud.

According to a release by UW-La Crosse, in partnership with the family of the missing student, Hamud Faal, the City of La Crosse Police Department, and UW-La Crosse Police Department, a search is being organized for Saturday, Feb. 26.

3 a.m. concerns me. Was he out drinking in one of the bars/restaurants in the area. In looking at a map where he was seen walking, it was not far from the pier or the water. Google Maps Without a coat is also concerning as it was reported he was seen wearing a sweater. SUN PRAIRIE (WKOW) -- Hamud Faal is studying to be a psychologist. The 25-year-old graduated from Sun Prairie High School in 2016 and MATC in 2018. Now, he's a senior at UW-La Crosse, but no one has seen him since early Sunday morning.

"These are things that that you watch on TV or in movies, but never in your wildest dreams would you imagine something like this hitting close to home," Faal's step-father, Jerreh Kujabi, said Friday. "Not knowing where our son is for the past couple of days has been something that has been really hard on us."

Kujabi said Faal and his two roommates went out to bars in La Cross Saturday evening. Around 2:30 a.m. Sunday, Faal called his roommates and said he was going home, but when they got home around 4 a.m., Faal wasn't there.
