O/T

If you guys are running IE you should switch to Firefox. It's a much better browser. It was suggested to me a couple of years ago and I didn't change because I don't like a lot of change but after I downloaded it, about a year ago, I was sold. It has a lot of free add-ons too. If you have any questions about it PM me because those questions really don't belong here.

Firefox has an add-on that is a dictionary that builds into the Firefox web browser. So any misspelled words show up with a red line under them so I don't have to spellcheck the whole thing and risk screwing things up.

It's a free download.

Hey, thanks for the reminder. A techie from Apple recommended Firefox to me while helping with Ipod compatability issues, and I spaced it off. I told him about the sleuthing and where it takes me online. He said hands down that Firefox is the safest for browsing. He also told me to download a free virus program called AVG. He said there is no paid virus software worth the money. Anyways, I can't tell you how good it works. It's even better than Spybot. My computer is 7 years old and running like new now.

This guy has trophys, has helped find missing kids, and he is therapeutically diagnosed as being predisposed to young kids. What more proof do you need to get interested. This scenario should be ringing alarm bells its like handing candy to a kid.
What we have here is a trifecta of precedents that signal a crime agaisnt children. If not Jacob then someone else. This case screams of Dannielle and David Westerfield, he was helpful and compliant and yet all the hallmarks of menace were there similarly here. Kids are vulnerable and they are precious and innocent beyond the price of keeping the reputations of suspect adult civilians unsullied.

It's certainly ringing alarm bells here, why is it not with LE? Or maybe it is and they are playing it down till they learn more? Do we know exactly where LE is in the investigation?

There really hasn't been much of a buzz. I seem to be getting most of my info from you all. I didn't know any family or assicoates. Only that my dad was a regular in his shop. I haven't had a chance to talk to him about it. I really need to give him a call. A few friends lived in his neighborhood, but all they said was he was weird. Nothing new.

I am hoping that LE is investigating. I keep an eye on the paper, but so far no real news on anything. I will definately post anything I hear.

Thank you all for keeping on top of this. I really think there is WAY more to this than is being released right now.

Thanks, I'm gonna start a Firefox thread so we don't get off topic here and We'll continue the conversation there if you want. :thumb:

I agree with Steely if I dont sound too forward.. CALL HIM!!

I dont think they will have a choice but to investigate the connection to the Barter case, but I do believe they are waiting for the DNA tests to come back. I agree with a lay low approach, until there is a reason for "other".
But not the "closed investigation" statement made by the PIO on 1/15- how do you close a case with pending forensics??

Alright...alright... I will call him :) I will give you all his take on him tomorrow.

You all are too funny!

I agree it is hearsay on it's own. There is no way until or unless someone might come forward as a direct witness to be sure. This guy is like a textbook profile case though, and alot of pediphilic crimes, expecially against boys, go unreported.

Drivenon: Yes, a textbook profile case.

Pediphiles seek out positions that put them in contact with children. These guys work hard to secure a child's trust, often seeking out children that are vulnerable and needy.
Then they rape and abuse that child's innocence and often murder them.

In the Bible, Jesus said it would be better for someone who harms children to have a millstone hung around their neck and thrown into the sea....I second that!

Fetter wouldnÂ’t comment on whether Seitz ever confessed other crimes to her, citing doctor-patient confidentiality. She said she could only talk about the 1950s incident.

If he's dead isn't that bond broken? She should be able to talk about it all now that he's deceased. IMO

Better late than never SS, that would simply not do!!

Mr. Seitz states he and another victim were abducted while on a family outing to Racine Zoo on June 19, 1959

That is my understanding as well.. Maybe she has been "advised" not to..

Seitz was obviously up to no good, he had that hand printed sign on the door saying visitors were being recorded by an infrared camera due to a break in so please call first before visiting, or something to that degree. He didn't want unexpected visitors in case his child 🤬🤬🤬🤬 was out or something worse probably.

I agree. I recall reading in one of the first posted articles that the sign was there because his house was broken into?? Also recall a female, I believe, recollecting on Seitz telling her about a break in where he (I think said to her) had shot and killed the intruder. :waitasec: That's been sitting in the back of mind. I'm going to go see if I can find any confirmation of A) a break in and B) if he shot and killed an intruder. I'm wondering if she was, in hindsight & with the excitement of news, dramatizing or if perhaps he did tell her this rendition of events - which gave him one more way of telling his "I've killed" story/fantasy??

ETA: This is the quote from the lady who was a business neighbor to the barber shop: "Bartholomew said Seitz also claimed to have shot and killed a man who robbed him in his home three years ago and that he had killed two men in Chicago some years ago." It comes from this article http://www.jsonline.com/news/wisconsin/37188529.html in the house boarded section. The first paragraph of that section has the wording of the hand written sign about the infrared camera.

I've not seen anything yet that indicates his house was broken into, let alone him shooting & killing the intruder. And I had forgotten about the add on of killing two men in Chicago as well! Now that I'm looking at the wording of what I'm taking to be a break in.. I see that I'm just inserting that idea myself. It only says a man robbed in in his home... for all I know he could have been someone Seitz knew... if it happened at all.

I would have figured him having a car also. How did he "vacation" to the Wetterlings... or other cases he involved himself into? Curious.

Nada, no tire lifts, no odometer info, no luminal/hemo tests no fiber standard, nothin'.. How did he get to the shrink and his barber shop at a minimum?

The shop was between 10-13 mi from his home and it appears that he worked at it until his death. How did whatever was in the dirt piles get moved? Not tools from the shed taken to be tested?

I just wanted to let you all know his shop was only 2-3 miles from his home. There is a bus that runs directly from one to the other. I am not sure about his therapist's office though. Where was that?

I am so glad that you are all on top of this. Thank you!

LOL, I wonder if that was his way of explaining the steel bar door?

I did not see an infared camera listed in his inventory, but if it had thermal imaging, well, I would be concerned about what he was using it for.

I also checked the weather trend in WI on Dec 10, there was 13" of snow on the ground and a significant cold snap the week prior.. That ground was frozen people! Yes, Im going back to the dirt piles! How is that possible??

Interesting! Very interesting. Wonder if there were any recent equipment rentals by Seitz (or a Seitz friend). Say for a ditchwitch or small backhoe... wonder if small electric cement mixer was rented for the basement project??

Thanks you've given me food for thought. But I was kinda thinking that the W's probably would be the first ones to complain if they felt it wasn't being investigated properly or was being ignored. Though I can certainly understand if in their hearts they might be reluctant to admit that Jacob could have ended up with this man.

BTW, I just had a thought. Didn't they say that this guy had eyehooks or some means of restraint in his home? I think Lanpear (sp) did too. I wonder how similar the two setups were.

I recall (going on memory here) restraints on the rafters.

Handcuffs as well.

ETA: It's in this twincities article previously posted re: restraints http://www.twincities.com/ci_11389993
