DC brother that lives North I believe, handles the foster children, but again the family does not know this guy or about him. JMO
So just wondering how people play on words. Maybe they didnt know him but maybe they came in contact with a sibling.

Thank you for finding that!

I’m starting to wonder if JP’s father didn’t even know he was living/staying there...

I wonder who was paying the bills such as electric, heat etc if JP did not work.
Then you have taxes and insurance which of course the father would pay if they planned on keeping it as a summer home. But someone unemployed could not have been paying the other month to month things.

Woman who Jayme ran to for help is being interviewed on Local Mpls. Channel 5. She says she initially did not ask Jayme any questions. Her goal was first to get Jayme to safety.
Good on her!

No. Only in some people's imaginations at this point.
And “imaginations” run rampant on here without a shred of knowledge or proof.

Because this crime was planned.

My point was that I had originally entertained the idea that something similar to the Cheshire murders occurred. That this guy had spotted Jayme in public, and followed her home.

This wasn’t that. I was wrong.

Just curious. Why do you doubt that now?

Maybe a behavioral boot camp?
Possible, though he had no record; juvenile records would be private, though, so possibly he could have juvie charges, no adult charges, and go to Ft McCoy etc. But the mom and sister posing with him - seems a little more positive and celebratory, maybe (eg off to the military?) Many up-north families are very proud to send their kids into the services.

Yes many county property records do not sync with land records on a regular basis - we do foreclosures and the best data is what is recorded in the public record - IMO- if he quit- claimed the property to the bank that will be a deed recorded - property appraiser and tax collector may take months to catch up but those deeds are recorded ASAP/ I’m wondering what the mortgage was - should be recorded as well - if there is a large mortgage which negates the equity he had it’s smart to stop the bleeding and just sign it over - otherwise if he had equity and signed it over IMO had to be a compelling reason otherwise just sell right? Better to get something than total loss JMO

Mortgage was $60,000 in 2012, so he refinanced or took an equity loan at that point, since he was in the house longer than that. It’s flagged as loan to value being more than 50%. Conventional loan. It’s assessed for taxes at $79,800 and bank took it for $87,500 it looks like. Not sure what liens or back taxes may also be on the house though, assuming that’s in the $87,500

I believe he saw her many months prior and planned And food for a guy? Not that difficult - he can re-supply and if he had others over - he hid her away. I don’t think he cared much about keeping her fed and clothed IMO

I have such mixed feelings on this. I understand why they protect victims of sexual assault, but in doing so, I worry that they further stigmatize those victims. Brush it under the rug. Make it a seem like a dirty secret. Whatever she endured with this sicko is NOT Jayme's fault and she should not feel ashamed of any of it (understanding that is easier said than done). God Bless Elizabeth Smart and Jaycee Dugard for turning this thinking around.

It's not her fault, of course, but there's no reason to air it in public if it's not necessary.

I think his shaved head in 2015 was when he was 18, and possibly going off to boot camp. Maybe, maybe not. JMO

But how would that information, even if true, put into doubt the possibility of his shaving his head approximately 3 years later in October of 2018?

I personally don’t think it is right to even suggest that a victim is somehow involved in their kidnapping and murder of their parents when there is no evidence whatsoever to suggest this. This poor young lady has been to hell and back and she deserves to be treaty with dignity and respect. I can’t imagine surviving this tragedy and have people online claiming I am somehow involved. It is also against Websleuths rules not to be victim friendly and this thread will end up locked if people are not posting in this manner.
Did I say that?

They're divorced, I think, so one probably moved away before the other. And I agree, they don't seem close. It seems the parents just wandered away and left the sons to their own devices. Which is odd.

I don’t believe the parents “just wandered away”, the brothers were quite young at the time of the divorce, but as per TOS I’ll not discuss them further...

would delinquent property tax be a reason for this?

More likely delinquent on the mortgage, IMO.

Yes - having been there myself, I got a definite boot camp feel from that photo :)

If he left for the military at age 18(ish?) in 2015, one path is to serve approximately two years and then return. We all go in lean, and then when we get home, we plump up (it seems) :)

Anyway--I definitely wonder whether he's a vet. Unfortunately, many MANY return with serious PTSD, and addicted to meds which increase the likelihood of violent outbursts. Oh--and, unemployed.
I got the same impression, based on the photo comment and his overall appearance.

My take is different though.

If he did join the military, it would have been very short lived. He might have been discharged during boot camp (failure to adapt).

I absolutely do not think he served for any length of time, nor did he deploy.

We still haven’t heard anything about military service though, so I want to make it clear that this is just speculation, based on knowledge of the process.

If it’s foreclosed, probably no one.

There is no proof she was on Discord; in fact the Sheriff stated she had no previous interaction with her kidnapper. It keeps getting brought up because some people are making up their own alternative narrative, but I don't know what their motivation would be. MOO.
Because unfortunately that is what some people do, especially hiding behind a computer screen. They want to find the negative even in joyful scenarios. I personally think they themselves suffer from some type of personality issue. JMHO.

Maybe one of suspects foster care buddies was fostered by the family and showed the suspect a photo of his foster family( including Jayme).

Good point.

Without a steady job , how was the perp supporting himself -- much less another person -- a teen who need to be fed and kept warm ?
I'm assuming he wanted her alive and god knows how long he intended to keep her. Was he 'inspired' by the abduction and captivity of the Ohio girls ?
Horrifying.

Bothers me to think he could get a reduced sentence if his past (difficult childhood) or mental health are used for his defense.
Other people struggle with mental illness and have had rough childhoods -- and they still didn't murder two people and ruin a young teens' life.
