Yea but if it’s monitored, the police would show up within minutes.

I reiterate, not for everyone! Takes 1 sec to shoot someone, that’s a lil too late for me, just saying. Y’all can rely on fancy crap, not me. Best wishes if something bad happens

Maybe the Dad was paying utilities knowing his kid was staying there. Parents do that. His dad probably never visited him and just paid to keep the lights and heat on for him. He probably told his dad he was looking for work blah blah blah and his dad felt guilty for the divorce. He might have even manipulated his parents guilty divorce conscious to survive.

But it looks to me like the bank officially took the title in October. I guess he could still pay utilities on it, but that would be a little crazy. Allowing your son to squat in a now bank owned home

I have to wonder if he was flying under the radar for years. It really is a leap to go from being a quiet kid in high school to home invasion, murder, kidnapping and abduction.
Yes!!!

Like many of you, I have been absolutely stunned by this miraculous outcome. There are so many people who should be lauded for their incredible effort in bringing Jayme back to her surviving family:
Our *hero* Sheriff, of course, but also Jayme's brave and steadfast family, her loving and stalwart friends, the community, and the media. If not for the supportive and pervasive coverage, the woman who encountered Jayme and the people at the house they went to, might not have known what to do so quickly, and the Perp might have escaped.

Everyone did an incredible job bringing this lovely child back home; well done citizens of Wisconsin! And again, three cheers to the Sheriff, the FBI, and the media. This was playbook perfection.

Now that Jayme has returned, it is *critically* important that she receive the right type of counseling and support to help her heal. She was abducted, abused, and witnessed the slaughter of both of her beloved parents. I can only imagine the mechanisms her mind has created for the sake of survival. Jayme's recovery is going to take time, expert care, and the Grace of God and her community. I am sending this child my prayers for a gentle recovery, and a return to a life of safety and surety.

God Bless our little Jayme, and all who have prayed so hard for her return.

for anyone that has worries about home invasions if you ever have monitored security once you learn to be friends with it you would wonder how you ever lived without it. it documents and calls when you cant. it can even tell you everytime a door opens even if it isn't armed. even just for the security of knowing a toddler isn't getting out a door without you knowing.

Yes, this. Also for fire, it will detect the fire and immediately call for help. Even if the system isn’t armed

And what happens if they cut ur WiFi? Most have these days and RELY on it. Sorry, I go old school! Gimme Wild West over modern technology any day!

It’s wired to a landline and WiFi

Maybe I am a sociopath, because I don’t have any problem seeing this guy doing this as his first crime. I had expected this age group, white male, who did not have much happening in his life. And some of these people live in their own little fake worlds. He had nothing but time to make his fantasy happen.
I expected it to be someone older (35 or older) for taking her, but thought the breaking in and killing the parents seemed like a younger person. Still, 21 seems pretty young. LE needs to investigate if he was molesting younger kids in his family. MOO.

In the story The Lovely Bones, the murderer is a neighbour but watches from afar, at the mall etc, and finds out her walking home route. Maybe JP watched from afar like that.
GREAT BOOK!

I wonder where he went, and why he came back well before "midnite"? Perhaps he was lying to see if she would stay put... ugh!! My prayers are that Jayme doesn't have to ever see this creep again and that he pleads guilty. JMO.

"Jayme said that Patterson was gone at the time she escaped but said he would return at midnight."

Jayme Closs reunited with family as alleged abductor awaits kidnapping, murder charges
I was wondering the same thing. Maybe he kept her in a locked room, and suddenly realized he forgot to lock the door. Maybe he was on the way back to the house when LE spotted his car. Imo

Best home defense...who’d a thunk it...a shotgun! Most bang for ur buck, even in the dark. Or in crimes also apparently...screw a security system, dog and a shotgun is all I need! FYI taught my daughter to shoot at 12, ya know just in case
Sorry but that wouldn't have saved the Closses. Happened way too fast.

Some people set up auto draft and don’t pay attention- could be this was a forgotten detail?

Oh I have it all, both tech and not tech and furry friends. No playing around in this house. The more, the better IMO. Can never be too protected

I had to get off Facebook tonight because I couldn't stand all the low-lifes still insinuating she had something to do with this even after she showed up dirty, hair matted, and in shoes too big for her.

I left FB years ago for this reason and many more. Jayme is THIRTEEN! 13! An innocent child who endured fear and abuse probably beyond our imaginations. She watched her parents be murdered, she was ripped from any comfort she knew and held against her will for 88 days to be used by a sick and twisted JTP. Is there more to the story? Probably. Is any of this Jayme’s fault? HELL NO.

does anyone else think its creepy that when the police picked up Jake Patterson they think he was driving around looking for Jayme?... did he think she would just get in the car with him?

I could’ve sworn there was a mention in MSM he has people over to the cabin and put her in a hiding spot, but can’t find it now.
I read that today too, but can not remember where. He did hide her somewhere. Facts will soon be known!

I’m sure the bank would be happy about that if so, especially in winter!

I'm not trying to get on your case, and that's great if you're Sarah Connor, but having been in the security business I can tell you that the overwhelming majority of average people aren't.
I believe this is the house. Taken from a helicopter today I think.
