Arcadia-Glencoe fire chief missing

According to the Trempealeau County Sheriff, Brett Semingson, Halvorsen was last seen leaving his residence Wednesday night. It was Friday morning when his family reached out to the sheriff's department, Semingson said, and later that afternoon the search effort ramped up. His phone has been turned off for more than 48 hours.

I wonder if they can track his newer truck. I don't know how that works

Also from the WXOW article:
"[His family] tells me over and over again how he has just never done this before, he doesn't just get up and leave for no reason, he communicates with them," Semingson said. "They are very concerned just as we are, and they are fearful of the worst just like we are, but hoping for the best."
Semingson said they have no idea where he might have gone, and so they are searching everywhere. He said the department has received aerial assistance from Mayo Clinic with their helicopter, as well as the Wisconsin State Patrol with their plane and the Civil Air Service.
Foul play is not suspected at this time according to Semingson."

Scary -- none of the possibilities are good, IMO.
How can foul play not be expected? Not that it would be 1st on the list, perhaps, but it's on my list of possibilities. JMHO.

Agreed...especially if he hasn’t been heard from since Wednesday!

This is merely my opinion, but another thing that has me worried that he hasn’t been heard from since Wed., is he’s a fire chief...and what I mean by that is IMO, that’s a position where you need to be available at a moment’s notice. It’s one thing if he were taking a planned vacation/time off, but this doesn’t seem to be the case.

I have no clue about GPS tracking concerning vehicles...would this be a possibility?

ETA:
In the original post by @KatzEye it was shared that his phone has been off for more than 48 hrs.
The link to that info has since been updated so I’m unsure when it was originally published.
Does the 48hrs mean it’s been off since he was last seen Wednesday or is there a chance his phone was on for a bit before going off?

New from police: According to the Trempealeau County Sheriff’s Office, 53-year-old Jeffrey Halvorsen from Arcadia was last seen on August 18 at around 10:50 p.m., traveling northbound on US HWY 93 in the City of Independence.

MISSING ENDANGERED: Arcadia Fire Chief Jeffrey Halvorsen, 53, last seen in Independence | WFRV Local 5 - Green Bay, Appleton

Previous last sighting was given during the day, at gas station in Arcadia.

Driving north at night suggests a particular destination?
And why is he now endangered?

Previous last sighting was given during the day, at gas station in Arcadia.

Here’s another previous article that shared the last sighting during the night as well, but at his residence as he left.
According to the Trempealeau County Sheriff, Brett Semingson, Halvorsen was last seen leaving his residence Wednesday night.

IMO, that makes things confusing...especially when it’s a basic (yet important) piece of information.

Search for missing Arcadia fire chief turns up little information

a new article...
Aug 22
Arcadia-Glencoe Fire Chief Jeff Halvorsen has been missing since Wednesday.

Sheriff Brett Semingson says no new information about Halvorsen has emerged as of early Sunday.

“People are asking how they can help,” Semingson said, “and I tell them they can go out and check their property for any signs.”

Semingson said searchers are slowly broadening the search area out from Arcadia, but they don’t have a specific location on which to concentrate.

.....
Included at the end of this updated article, the following information on “last seen location” is shared:
Halvorsen was spotted on an Arcadia Kwik Trip camera putting gas in his truck, a 2020 gray Dodge Ram 2500, Wednesday evening and then heading north.

Also regarding his phone:
His phone has been turned off since Wednesday evening.

thanks for map! Lots of water.

IMO this is a strange one. a higher profile man that leaves his home, and his family reported him missing 1.5 days later probably hoping he would come back. Endangered could be a mental health crisis and/or medication issue.

I did look up his newer truck that has Uconnect if he pays for it. I read that it's very easy to track the GPS location. As for his phone being off, it sounds like he turned it off on purpose, prayers

So, maybe it’s possible he was last seen in Arcadia at Kwik Trip, then he was seen shortly after the same night in Independence. That would make sense; according to the updated article.
He was seen getting gas in Arcadia and then heading north.

Officers have found in Sawyer County a body in the truck that belongs to missing Arcadia-Glencoe Fire Chief Jeff Halvorsen, according to Trempealeau County Sheriff Brett Semingson.
A department press release says officials are still trying to identify the body. "At this point in the investigation," the release says, "there is nothing that leads us to believe that foul play is suspected."

How sad.
“Foul play not suspected” according to article linked above.
