Found Deceased WI - Jeff Halvorsen, 53, fire chief, Arcadia, 18 Aug 2021

Sadly, I am getting a possible 'self harm' vibe. I don't think he would turn his phone off, as fire chief, unless he was wanting to be alone and maybe disconnect.

And he just drove away from his home-with no explanation? I've seen that before when it had very sad endings. :(

ETA: oh no, I just saw that his truck has been found. With a body inside...RIP Chief Halverson. GodSpeed

Oh no. I was afraid that might be what happened, but I was holding out hope that he just needed to get away for a while.

Could it have been a sudden and fatal medical situation? Heart attack, stroke, brain hemorrhage, etc.?

I would say anything is possible but it's exceptionally unlikely.

I usually don't need to know much more in a case like this....but in this one I'd like to know more. Not being nosy,,,just stunned.

Body Found in Truck Belonging to Missing Arcadia-Glencoe (WI) Fire Chief | FirefighterNation

On Sunday around 2:15 p.m., Trempealeau County officials received a call from Sawyer County officials that they’d found Halvorsen’s Dodge Ram truck with a body inside in a remote wooded area near Hayward in Sawyer County.

Investigators are working to determine the identity of the body, though they do not suspect foul play.

....
ETA:
I’m not familiar with this area; did I map the two locations correctly?
Arcadia to Hayward- distance 2.5 hrs

Authorities confirm body in truck is missing fire chief

"Authorities have confirmed a body discovered in a truck in northern Wisconsin is that of a missing fire chief. Arcadia-Glencoe Fire Chief Jeff Halvorsen had been missing since Wednesday.
....
A ruling on the cause of death is pending a toxicology report. Foul play isn’t suspected. "

IMO interesting that they didn't say how he died unless it was not obvious thus the toxicology. Just curious

Any info on whether an autopsy was done along with the toxicology report?

If a body is found with opened empty bottles of meds, it is probably assumed that the cause of death is an overdose. But, they still have to confirm it with toxicology. IMO
