GUILTY WI - Kayden Powell, 4 days, Beloit, 6 Feb 2014

Bennett, the baby's great-uncle, told The Associated Press he came home on Thursday night to find a black SUV with Illinois license plates parked in front of his house. Inside he found his mother, the baby's mother and father, and a woman he had never met.

BBM....so was it a rented vehicle?

Kayden's car seat was left at the house, so Kristen did have one.
Don't know when she purchased it though. (Before or after the abduction.)

Ms. F...

I am so impressed with your dedication to these cases... And you are so incredibly compassionate... :loveyou:

But... How do we know for a fact KS's DH exists in the capacity that is on his FB?

TIA, my friend...:seeya:

He has posted since her arrest on his facebook page.
Kristen's sister has also posted since her arrest on a news facebook page.
She referred both to Kristen's husband and Kristen's 4 kids.

I wish we could have a list of things we know are true.
I don't believe half of what this woman says.

But it seems unfair to her husband to imply he doesn't exist.
He is another victim in this... as are her children.

I sure wish that they were just imaginary.
That would mean there wasn't a grieving husband and children who just lost their wife and mother. :please:

(Oh, oh, this could be dangerous, folks. Clue and I are obviously both in really goofy moods today (must be the intensity of yesterday's happenings--between Kayden being found safe, Captain Quick's Flag Lowering and Press Conference, the mother and daughter murdered yesterday in my vicinity...its nice to have a couple silly giggles in a very grateful "Found Safe" Thread!

So, speaking of prosthetic moons, :behind: i wonder if any of this infomation can be of any use to us in the Pooping jogger Thread...)

:laughcry: Prosthetic moon bumps (:behind:)on the pooping jogger thread....:laughcry:

Always thinking... Aren't you, Sleuther Margarita... Always thinking! :waitasec:

Great question!!! I doubt she ever gave them an address, and probably was going to change her phone number. Though truly I don't know, but only guessing. Such a strange case!

I am thinking so too...

and... Another telling sign is that she did not go with them to bring them to her house...

she had some kind of excuse, of course... But wouldn't she have stayed to help?

Just some thoughts..

I am curious to know when she first contacted mom with this half-sister info and if they had seen each other before this trip. Please excuse if this has been posted--I admit I haven't read every post but was following the case via the news/Twitter. From the great-uncle's comments in the media, he didn't seem to know about KS before she arrived at his mother's house.

This is one of the strangest cases I've seen involving a newborn kidnapping, but thank goodness he was found alive and the mother/parents/family wasn't murdered!

I encourage everyone to go find the comment from Kristen's sister:

https://www.facebook.com/wisn12

It is under the one with Kristen's mugshot posted 23 hours ago...
You will have to click on recent comments and look through comments a bit.
You are looking for a LONG comment from someone with the initials GTJHW

It is the 9th story down on their facebook right now.
I cannot link it because it links to their website, it isn't in their pictures or anything.
It is the second story down about Kayden right now.

Oh no... the pregnant receptionist was at a party? Getting drunk? :drink:

:cautionDrunk:

:nono:

:laughcry:

Maybe the moonbump protects you when you fall over and pass out?

No, wait, I said I was going back on topic. Sorry again. And sorry for KS's family in this difficult time. I wonder if she was pregnant, then developed ppm after a miscarriage?

Moonbump: A good way to keep guys from hitting on you at a party :)

Their Facebook relationship went back at least 3 years. That was the oldest comment I could find from Kristen to Brianna.

Again, there is no reason to think that Brianna's mom's brother would know Brianna's dad's previous GF, wife, or one night stand and any children that resulted from those relationships. It's quite possible that Brianna's dad didn't know of Kristen's existence until after Brianna's mom was out of the picture.

My Dad has a daughter from a previous relationship that my mother doesn't know about.
My mother is kind of a beeotch... there is A LOT of things we do that my mother doesn't know about.
It's just easier that way. (And my mother and father are actually still married.) :giggle:

The criminal complaint lists Smith as a resident of Denver, Colo. A search led us to a family in the nearby suburb of Arvada. They say their daughter, Kristen, has been the victim of identity theft for three years. They believe the woman charged with kidnapping may be using their daughter's identity.
The Milwaukee office of the Federal Bureau of Investigations is handling this case. I called to confirm Smith's purported date of birth and her address in Colorado. A rep told me they can't discuss that, citing the ongoing investigation

there is no way I would want to be unfair to a victim... And I have not done so in cases past...

However... Since KS's DH is not in MSM... And we are not to use FB as fact... And I do not navigate FB well.... I am not " in the loop" of the FB comments...

I just wanted to explain my side....

FWIW...

OK, that is just downright weird. Could the kidnapper have hacked into Kristin's FB page?

Wow. This just keeps getting weirder and weirder. At the link a family member states they were unaware of her until "yesterday". I'm confused!

Her husband's last name is also Smith as is his entire family...
I'm not sure if they are claiming that her NAME is not really Kristen Smith?
Or if they are just claiming that she is using the identity of this specific Kristen Smith instead of her own?

Her children's names would have to have been changed as well.
They appear to also have the last name Smith.

It's much harder to change your identity once you have kids.
It also seems that she would have changed it AFTER her fraud...
So that she wouldn't have that warrant in her current identity.
But it doesn't appear she was a very smart criminal... so maybe not.
