GUILTY WI - Kayden Powell, 4 days, Beloit, 6 Feb 2014

Okayyy... This is killing me...

Does anyone else have to giggle when you see "🤬🤬🤬 & Go"... Like I do? :giggle:

Carry on... :D

It always makes me do a double take.
That name would NEVER be permitted in Utah.
"Morning Wood Drive" had to be changed because of it's sexual innuendos. :floorlaugh:

Just a thought , can the hospital look in Kayden's belly and see how long since he ate, which will give idea of how long was in the bag in the cold.

as a nurse they would have been able to look at other indirect things like skin turgor and blood pressure before subjecting him to invasive tests for dehydration, etc.

body temp will also be key here imhoo.

ALIVE! I'm so happy this sweet little one is alive! <3

It is bitterly, deathly cold in the Midwest right now. There is absolutely no way a newborn baby could have survived being outside in a tote bag for very long at all. I hope LE gets to the bottom of this. He was abandoned near a gas station, so there should be surveillance tapes!

from ryloga's link above=>

The U.S. Attorney's office tells 27 News they plan to file federal charges this afternoon in the missing baby case.

They will not confirm who the charges will be against.

Police do not know how long Kayden was in that location outside before they found him.

Interesting...

:waitasec:

It didn't change, I promise.
She has been Kris Smithinbelle since the news broke about Kayden being missing. :twocents:

There are others on facebook friends lists... Krista and Kristen. But THIS one stayed the same.

I saw NO mention of wanting another baby, or trying for a baby, or expecting a baby.
I saw a woman who was happy with the life she had and didn't appear to want to change anything.
Of course anything is possible but Kristen simply doesn't strike me as the type to do this. :twocents:

Also, I can NOT see anyone who took that baby to raise it, leaving it outside.
It would be one thing while she talked to the cops... but as soon as she realized she was being arrested?
I think she would have cracked and told them to go get Kayden so he would be okay.

I am very anxious to see the evidence they have that Kristen took Kayden and left him out in the cold. :twocents:
Maybe I'm just trying to see the best in people... but that doesn't sound like me. :waitasec:

That's what I don't understand.

Also, since she was phoned by police and asked to meet, why not drop Kayden off at a gas station then drive back towards WI to meet with police? They wouldn't have had reason to believe she was further south than where they arrested her. They would have never found Kayden.

Something about this just isn't making sense to me. Well a lot of it isn't making sense. But I don't think Kayden spent the night in a bag outside a gas station. I don't think Kristen acted alone, if she was involved at all.

It made me giggle. Sorry, my humor can be unpredictably immature sometimes.... :innocent:

Totally serious, the residents of Utah petitioned to change the name of Morning Wood Drive.
They considered it inappropriate for the children. :giggle:
I secretly thought "I can't believe they even know what Morning Wood MEANS in the first place!"

I would think at this point LE was pinging her phone and knew exactly where she was. I hope there was someone else involved and KS had already given the baby to that person and that is why she was so willing to meet with them. I hope that person took care of the baby and maybe got scared with all the publicity and decided to leave the baby where he could be found and saw LE around. If that is the case it shouldn't be hard to find them.

I wonder if she confessed.

Hopefully. Given the location the baby was found, I think we all have a pretty good guess who will be charged. IMO, of course ;)

Not sure how that baby survived our sub-zero temps for any length of time. Baby Kaden has angels for sure!

I think they were meeting her there and had a bead on her already :twocents:

I think he was in the car with her until shortly before she met LE and she dumped him across the street.

Until we know the time of the call from LE we won't really know???? but they were almost 200 miles from last seen.. so anything is possible.

I wonder if she just recently had a baby herself and could have some PPD going on? (just thinking here)

Kristen does not have a new baby. Her kids are all older.

If they knew where she was why didn't they just pull her over instead of calling her?
Wouldn't that make more sense?

Brianna would have called Kristen before calling LE, to make sure Kristen didn't have the baby.
(You would call anyone you could think of especially if they had recently left the house.)
Kristen had to know that LE would be contacting her. :twocents:

well... whomever dropped him off at the 🤬🤬🤬 whatever gas station will most likely be on ccvid.. maybe they were waiting on that for probable cause (sorry forgot the name of the gas station)

  • #535
🤬🤬🤬 and Go... really, you forgot the name Nurse? :laughcry:

I hope there is conclusive evidence Kristen did this, otherwise I'm going to wonder...

Do you have a theory?

IMO there has to be a second person. It is so cold here my kids had a delay at school Wednesday because temps were so low. I really don't think he could've survived all yesterday and last night. The wind would hit my face yesterday and it was extremely painful.
If Kayden was in that tote bag all night outside, I will immediately start to believe in God.

I actually did! hahahaha!!! sorry but that is like the worst EVER name for a gas station ever on the face of the planet! :twocents::twocents:

I do not believe that Kayden was out there for 29 hours before being found, yet is still alive. :twocents:

If he WAS there the whole time law enforcement was totally incompetent for not checking the area.
That should have been the FIRST thing they did after they arrested Kristen.
Check the entire area from when she got the phone call from LE to when she stopped.
Can you imagine if they hadn't found him until it was too late, because they didn't search the area?!

I certainly hope that Kristen confessed and they didn't assume her guilt because of where he was found.
I can see this going either way, with Kristen being guilty or not... I am not convinced she is guilty.
She definitely didn't do it ALONE or we'd be discussing a dead baby found at a gas station.

February 6 - West Branch, Iowa

Hi 5°F
Lo -13°F

Unless there was a heater in the immediate proximity to Kayden, he wasn't out there 29 hours.
Something is just still not right with this and I hope that we get the whole story later. :twocents: :

I agree with you.

I'd like to know how they found her at a gas station in West Branch, Iowa. And if she new anyone there.

I keep thinking that maybe she isn't guilty either. Someone could of taken the baby. Seen all the news coverage and how fast this blew up. Got scared seen ther childs aunt was aressed there and figured if they left the baby there no one would question it and the aunt take the fall.

Or she had help. It's one of two IMO.

I think they called her and had a local fbi branch detail from that area meet her (that or local le)

:moo:

she had no time so she ditched him
