yes, congrats to the local police and FBI for taking this seriously and taking immediate action

sooo happy for these parents and their families - they won't be very trusting of others but hopefully they can heal, knowing how lucky they are to be able to hold and nurture their little guy

God no! That poor mother is never going to sleep again. I just keep thinking how tired she is going to be from being on baby watch and sleeping with one eye open. And I am sure she didn't get an hours worth of sleep from the time he went missing till he was in her arms again.

But I really am so impressed with the way this was handled. I mean they stopped and looked threw the garbage just in case, called the FBI, the way they worked threw the night seaching for him, got his name and picture out ASAP...very impressive. Getting the FBI involved right away was the smartest thing. :)

I was going to say God bless this little family but it looks like he all ready did :)

I am betting that baby wasn't left alone for a nanosecond after he was found. :giggle:
Nurses, agents, big burly law enforcement officers oohing and ahhing over him. :loveyou:

On one of the fb pics of her (KS) wedding, last summer I think, she makes a comment to someone about being a papa soon. That was a clue to me of faked pregnancy. Also for people wondering why no posts about it that we could see, well many people use FB lists to control the audience for your posts.

I haven't been on here for a while but this case grabbed me because of this sweet boy's face. It bothered me all day and when I found out he was found alive - I really cried. I really hope this piece of crap excuse for a human being isn't let off easy. That baby could have died in the cold. But then again, if she's out....I know what I'd be doing if I were the parent.

But that person she made the comment to has a new baby girl himself...
He isn't old enough to be a Grandfather, he was expecting his own baby at the time.
:twocents:

That's why it surprises me, that no one made a comment like that to Kristen.
In commenting how pretty she looked nobody said "It must be that pregnancy glow."
It's just weird.

After reading all the threads this afternoon, I believe she did this alone. How crazy is she to think a baby could live in this plastic tote for hours?! My guess is she did nor plan on getting arrested and them keeping her as long. But stupid girl should have figured she would have a tail on her for days!

Earlier today I read the name Smith was a short form of her real name smithenbelle. If true, why are her charges written in her shortened name, and nor that smithenbelle.

Yeah her real name is Smith. She just made up Smithinbelle as far as I can tell.
Her husband and kids are all under Smith. :twocents:

Again, I feel SO bad for her husband and kids.
I cannot even imagine finding out your wife and mother did this. I hope they have a lot of support :please:

To everyone who is second-guessing LE at this point.

1) They FOUND the baby and he is ALIVE.

2)They didn't do it the way you might have.

3) See #1.

I have found from experience that people don't gush over #5 as much as they do with #1 (as long as you are married and in your 20's-30's).

I had more gushing when I was 18 and a total disappointment to my parents than I did when I was 31 and pregnant with my 5th. By the time you get to 5 people think you are too moronic to know what causes pregnancy. Just my experiences. :)

Agree they did what they are trained to do. All LE deserves a pat and even they did expect the out come to find the baby alive. Good for them. My hats off to the amazing job they did to bring this baby home.

Honestly, we completely lucked out here.
If Kristen had left Kayden in a duffel bag instead of a plastic tote... he would be dead right now.

Kristen should have told LE where he was immediately.
However, when she didn't... LE should have searched that area immediately.
They KNEW that she had him with all the evidence they had in her van. They KNEW.

I hope they review the way they handled this and handle it differently if there is a next time.
Just because it turned out okay this time, doesn't mean it couldn't be handled better next time.

She could have just as easily strangled him and dumped his body when she got that phone call from LE.
This could could have ended SO badly in so many ways. We are so lucky that Kayden is okay. :seeya:

the agent is beaming from happiness!

kayden is the embodiment of his name 'fighter'.

i'm so happy for Kayden and his parents. This is a happy ending that we all wish could happen every time.

Awww. It is so rare to see an officer really happy like that in the middle of a case. But I guess not many men get to go through a lot of hard effort and then get a baby at the end of it!
