We sure don't like it and I wonder how long before the media gets tired of being played with!

Probably not long, since most outlets are shortstaffed and there's no shortage of stories to do.

Sounds to me like someone is hiding something & LE needs to get to the bottom of this quickly. Since April deems it necessary to lie & make friends lie also that she is trying to control the situation.

If something has really happened to Kelly! April should be ashamed of herself for trying to cover up what really happened. I think she knows a LOT more then she is saying!!!!

Her sister is frustrating me! If there converstation is really just a personal private converstation that may be embarrassing to one of them but has NOTHING to do with where she might be, then she should SAY THAT! Instead of just being like "im not commenting on our converstation"!

That is probably as close to the truth as we're going to hear. Its apparent to me that the sister is trying to protect the reputation of Kelly. . A little late for that when the National media is "TRYING" to help. Nobody likes people playing games & this is what it appears to be.

As we all know here at WS / we've probably seen & heard it all. This is one for the books......if they want help be truthful & quit masking the darn truth.

It is what it is.....either she was drunk / on druugs / raped / kidnapped / walked away / or with a one night stand. Its no big deal she needs to be found. I don't even understand how or why the cops would want involved if the entire truth isn't available.

If they want our help don't tell me the last phone call to you isn't important / that its personal. That to me is a total cop out. :banghead:

As long as the police know what that conversation was about, that's all that matters. If LE deems that the public should know because it could help locate this young woman, then they will release the info.

This case already seems like a crock! Why go public if they don't want to say anything or ask for help? LE and the family are handling this in a highly inappropriate manner, IMO. Asking friends to lie or skirt the issues, the family doing the same, and leading the media/public on a wild goose chase all the while?! What a crock!

Exactly! The media will get tired of being played with and the public will lose interest. Therefore her sister won't get the attention she deserves and is ABLE to get right now! So many missing peoples families would love to be able to get this type of attention but like we already know not everybody gets the same amount of ''air-time''...

Maybe the sister is just not telling the media. She may have told the police or her family. Maybe she called and told her sister she had a one night stand and the sister doesn't want the media to focus on that instead of her sister being missing.

I wonder if they know EXACTLY who she was with and the police are attempting to gather enough evidence to get the needed warrants. If the sister said "We know exactly who kelly was going to meet with prior to her disappearance and his name is " or even "We know exactly who Kelly was going to meet with when she disappeared" this could really interfere with the police's ability to do their job.

the police probably do know what they need to .. mabey the sister doesnt want her sisters business splashed all over the news? . i think that may be what is going on .. the whole world doesnt need to know .. the cops and family do is probably what her sister is thinking .

I am surprised that no journalist/reporter has searched out the person who supposedly fired her at the Orpheum. I heard that no boaters/home owners were asked to keep their eyes wide open on Lake Delton. Is anyone interviewing the kids who return to that bar night after night? And no organized ground search(my bag was packed)? We who follow all the missing know that this case is very different. Maybe we will learn from this...and just maybe our prayers will be answered.

I understand that & it does sound likely.

I can see where a family don't want everyone to know everything. But the media was 'helping' they are not the enemy. It helps knowing where she was that night.

After reading this article, I have a feeling, or at least HOPE, that she's 'missing on purpose.' It seems she's got some personal issues that need to be addressed. IMO, we've all hit a time in our life when it seems as if everything and anything that can go wrong, well,............does.

I hope she can figure things out before she gets herself into real trouble, or that it hasn't already happened.

I'm praying she comes back or shows up safe and sound. At least now I'm not CERTAIN she's met foul play. Hope she comes back or is found soon.

I think she will come home! I also was worried she met with foul play & hopefully that is not the case.

However much I disagree with the way the family has handled this- I'm not in their shoes, THANK GOD. But, I agree with you Beth... not only could it jeapordize the investigation, it might just spook the person they think she was last with, and they don't want to do that either! I also think that April has told police all about that last conversation. She was either instructed to not divulge the contents of the call so as not to impede LE- or so that she doesn't spool a suspect into fleeing- or worse- harming Kelly. On the other hand, if she alone has decided that it was not relevant to finding Kelly, then I wholeheartedly disagree.
I would bet on a few things being included in the content of that last conversation:

1. Who she was with, or who she was going to meet.
2. Her last location.
3. If she ran into someone or something unusual that night, she probably told her sister "Guess what happened"... or "Guess who I saw?"
4. Plans for them to get together the next day.

Cheko- When I found April's comments on Facebook last Thursday, I immediately posted them and asked the SAME questions that you just did... it's very strange that they're telling people not to tell the media anything relevant. But now that I've thought about it, she has probably told the police everything that was said, and the police have advised her not to tell the media. Madison Police are notoriously tight lipped.

One curious aspect of the Kelly Nolan case is the involvement of internet sleuths. Dane101 became aware of internet sleuths when we began receiving hits from a bulletin board called "WebSleuths." The members of the board began collecting facts and information they garnered from various news sources (including us) and have been using those to try and piece together the Nolan case. Reading the thread brings to light both the positive aspects and negative aspects of having armchair detectives working on a case.

One line drawn early apparently developed after some possible misreporting by WKOW had Orpheum owner Henry Doane at the Memorial Union Terrace on Saturday. This caused quite a bit of discussion in the WebSleuths board because Nolan briefly worked at the Orpheum and was also allegedly last seen at the Terrace (the FOX report has since corrected the misreporting). This misstep in reporting led to the sleuths digging into the background of a respectable member of Madison's community and drawing to connect him to Nolan's disappearance.
