This kid really breaks my heart. She just couldn't catch a break. No matter what. If anyone knows anything , Comon cut her a break now.

Do I understand correctly Kelly had an DUI and had lost her license? Was she attending DUI classes to get her license back? Was she performing anykind of community service to help with her fines?
I remember when my daughter went thru those classes and community service, she was thrown in with some of the worst of worst. I drove her to those classes and there were some rough people there.
She had recently spent 14 days in jail so I am guessing with her serving time she wouldn't have to do the other things. I could be wrong, but I haven't heard of anything else that was required of her.

Another clip about her funeral

WAUNAKEE -- Grieving and hoping for justice, the family and friends of 22-year-old Kelly Nolan said goodbye Saturday in a moving memorial service at the Waunakee church where she was baptized.
Who murdered her about a month ago remains a mystery.
"I don 't have the words to say how sorry I am that this happened, " the Rev. Eric Sternberg said during the service at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, which was nearly filled by 300 or more relatives and well-wishers.
In place of a casket at the front of the church was a photograph of Nolan, flanked by flowers and a single lit candle. Her body is still being held as evidence.
In place of an explanation was a spiritual exhortation to accept her death as part of God 's plan, mixed with an earthbound determination to find and punish the person or persons responsible for it. The police investigation has produced no suspects.
"Pray to God that justice will be done, " Sternberg said.

Was it Kelly that talked to her sister right before she disappeared and the sister refused to say what they talked about or am I mixing Kelly and her sister up with another victim and her sister? If it was Kelly's sister did she at least tell LE what the call was about?

Yes it was Kelly that called her sister before she disappeared. I dont know if she has told the police what they discussed . But have to think that she would have if there were any way possible that it would be connected to finding her sister when she was missing and now in the search of her murderer.

I heard Kelly's sister say that she told everything to LE and they told her the info didn't need to be told to the public as it had no bearing on her disappearance.

Yes, while Kelly's sister didn't reveal her last conversation...to anyone besides LE...Mahalia's (Xiong) sister also said she talked to her before she went missing at 11:00 pm., but she readily discussed what was said. (Evidently, the phone conversation with Kelly didn't help them in any way which I find difficult to believe now.)

You are thinking of the right case..."refused" was a word used in headlines to generate sensationalism and speculation. She was told not to reveal by law enforcement and did what she was told to do despite the headlines and intense personal criticism in the media for following that advice. The police know the contents of that call.

I'm sure to April it wasn't a matter of 'should I' or 'shouldn't I'...but more, 'what would happen if I did' go against the advice of LE. Not sure anyone, in a similar situation, would do any different when their loved one's life is on the line.

Has anyone heard mention of a boyfriend?

Kelly was a lovely girl. Surely she must have had boyfriends.

It just seems strange that none have been mentioned as far as I know.

Usually whoever is in the closest relationship with the victim is the first to be looked at and we don't know who that may be.

I've asked before about a boyfriend have never heard. I even thought of an ex boyfriend?

Nobody posted anything in regards to one???

I have asked repeatedly to no avail on this case about past boyfriends. No one has come up with anything. It is like I said before...if it were here...the press would be all over it and we would know! They aren't doing their job in Madison!

You know she had to have a social life during high school and in college. There MUST be SOME boy/man in her life at SOME point. She obviously wasn't adverse to hanging out with guys she met in a bar...since she was willing to let Cafe guy walk her home. It makes me wonder how many times it happened before after a night of drinking.

Is a boyfriend involved? Both police and April Nolan say no. Police spokesman Joel DeSpain added, "There doesn't appear to be anything in her immediate past history to indicate that something was going on in her life that she wanted to get away from in this town, in her family, (or) in her environment."

Kelly had no serious boyfriend at the moment, April said.
"She played volleyball in high school," she said. "She's always open and accepting to meet new people, and she values her close relationships a lot."

That's about all that was said.

"in her immediate past" "at the moment" etc. I don't care about the fact she wasn't dating anyone at the time she went missing. WHO did she date PRIOR? In the past few YEARS?

That was my concern to SS.

Hi All --

I havent really contributed , but Ive been reading up on this case & this one particular aspect blows my mind. Is it accurate that her body is still being held as evidence? I dont think Ive come across that before, for a body to be held that amount of time -- Does anybody else think this is really bizarre? I feel like there is something very substantial that we dont know ..it just is really weird, i cant quite think of the proper word i need to convey my feelings

Hi and Welcome, Mikesmom~

You know, I thought it was odd myself when I read that. I don't know of any reason other than they are still doing forensic testing maybe. It seems like after the autopsy, taking tissue samples, etc...they should have released it to the family. I can't imagine what is taking so long for that tho. Anyone?
