The article was well written and quite interesting. You could be onto something there. I am glad someone is still mentioning Kelly's case as it seems MPD have let it effectively slip into obscurity.
However, the police made it very clear the person in the sketch was not a suspect and had been "cleared" right after they found Kelly's body. He made it a point of saying "cleared" which essentially means they had reason to take him out of the suspect pool.
Wray said a man featured in a police sketch which had been shown to people in downtown Madison in connection with the search for Nolan has been ruled out as a suspect.

I will try to find the video I saw where Wray goes further to say they "cleared" him. I watched it as it happened, but I cannot find it.
Of course, they could always be wrong! Their judgement on this case has not been held in the highest esteem with many.

Thanks for posting your blog. I'm glad that you called in the tip. What a coincidence that this guy who lives less than a mile from the crime scene and once lived in Kelly's hometown has round glasses and a goatee!!
Why on earth wouldn't the police release the sketch of the suspect? Is it that generic that they feel that they would get way too many calls?
I think that you are very logical in the way that you think. Hopefully, you explained to the police or the tipline what you said in your story.
That is very interesting Ladymemac.....
I sincerely hope LE does something with your tip & doesn't just put it in the cold case file!

An excellent article! Do we know why LE has ruled out the suspect? Does he have a phony alibi? Did they check for DNA evidence at Kelly's murder site? How come this witness doesn't have alot of information? Why isn't there more information on this case?
I say this article speaks volumes. It may help LE to dig deeper. This family deserves to find the killer, so they can be at peace.
