Circumstances of Recovery: Teenagers came upon an isolated cranium resting on the ground surface while hunting near Lac du Flambeau. The cranium was noted to be sitting in an area of dirt devoid of plant growth and leaves, although the surrounding area had thick ground cover of grass, foliage, and leaf litter.

I believe these are very old skulls and craniums turned over by UW Oshkosh for analysis before repatriating to Native American communities. Any updates might come from the forensic anthropologist on the case and probably have to do with DNA.
