What could have happened?

went into the river for some reason and couldn't swim?
has there been any info on his vehicle? did he have one and where was it parked?

The leaving the shoes behind is just too obvious in my opinion.
He's currently got numerous OPEN cases against him, including multiple charges of bail jumping.

(1) Case No.2024CF000051 Bail Jumping and battery against a judge/prosecutor/law enforcement officer. Filed June 27, 2024
(2) Case No. 2024CM000023 filed in May for bail jumping.
(3) Case No. 2024CM000009 filed Feb 5 2024 Disorderly Conduct and Bail Jumping (yes, another one) and disorderly conduct.
(4) Case No. 2024CM000007 filed Feb 1 2024 Bail Jumping.
Other charges include
Possession of THC, Disorderly Conduct, Resisting or Obstructing an Officer, Impersonating a Peace Officer, Retail Theft, Another Bail Jumping, Criminal Damage to Property, Bail Jumping (3 more!), Possession of drug paraphernalia, resisting arrest,

There's more, but I'll let others look through them. Three Counties, search by name, Wood, Taylor, and Langlade.

Yes, he could have fallen into the water, but honestly, given his history, I personally doubt it.

I also doubt he fell, without shoes. Seems a way to make others think he disappeared into the water …it s a red flag that it may be a made up scene. JMO
Now if they had also found a car with eg his id, his phone etc, then I would believe it more

ETA

For case number 2024FO000193, the charge was “fishing without a licence”, and this case is then linked to the one GraceG mentioned about battery against judge/prosec

Thanks - it was REALLY slow loading the case info this morning so I gave up on that one.

to be clear, I never said he could've fallen
I said he could've gone into the river for some reason and and then drowned

and now reading about his history of bail jumping, that's an obvious probability but why would he leave his shoes behind?

They could be right, maybe he is trying to create a diversion to make LE think he’s gone - wouldn’t be the first time. But the guy could have had a mishap of some sort, think I’ll wait for more information before I make any conclusions.
