A deputy responded to an 11:51am call about a suspicious individual in the city of Elroy. The person was identified as Virgil Thew, and he was taken into custody.

Hamm said that Thew admitted to law enforcement after his arrest on Thursday that he tried to hide his crimes as well as try to elude law enforcement.


Hamm told the court that Thew stuck to rural areas and also took a car in an effort to get away.

on his Feb. 13 hearing it appears they discussed terms of bond. His cash bond is set at 5 million. Should he be in a position to bond out he is to have zero contact with a variety of individuals.
