Missing 2-year-old found dead in Minnesota; father in custody

A child’s body found wrapped in a blanket along a Minnesota highway is believed to be that of a missing 2-year-old girl whose mom police have said was fatally shot by her former pimp, authorities announced Saturday.

The discovery of the child's body came hours after officials had put out a plea asking "the entire nation" to help find Noelani Robinson, whose father, Dariaz Higgins, is charged with killing her mom in Milwaukee on Monday. Police had said the child could be anywhere because her parents had traveled through numerous states.

An off-duty public works employee found the body that's believed to be Noelani's while driving home Friday night, Milwaukee Police Chief Alfonso Morales told reporters. The body was inside a blanket off the shoulder of Minnesota Highway 218 north of Austin, about 300 miles (483 kilometers) west of Milwaukee, Morales said.

The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension said in a statement Saturday night that Higgins had stayed at a hotel in Austin at some point in the past week.

[...]

He would not comment on the condition of the body, but the BCA said the child died from blunt force trauma to the head.

This is so heartbreaking. What a gorgeous, sweet baby doll. How could he do that??????

Do we know yet how he killed her?

I think it was blunt force trauma. Her body was found beside the road wrapped in a blanket. :(

He looked bored and inconvenienced. I like the $1 million bond though. Perhaps that sent him a message.
Yeah, his facial expressions show contempt. And then that big laugh at 9:30.

Good work, Y! Thank you.

Although it was absolutely horrifying to read.

I don't want to think about what he did to Noelani. I can't go there...

Anguish.

Taking the liberty of piggybacking on HL's post, with kind thanks:

Police believe he likely ditched a rental car and got a ride to a rest stop on I94 west.

Also in these new documents, Sierra Robinson had with her new children's clothes that still had the tags on them.

That second sentence is almost unbearably sad to me. Sierra had broken free from Dariaz pimping her, essentially owning her, and seemed determined to make it own her own.

That Sierra was still escorting, albeit on a higher GFE level, is not mine to judge. It may have provided her with a level of independence and income that allowed her to imagine a different and better future for her and her little girl.

She loved Noelani and obviously wanted to provide for her, take care of her, love her.
New clothes with tags...:( Ouch.
