Found Alive WI - Ryan Borgwardt, 45, Green Lake, 11 Aug 2024 *evidence that he faked his death and is alive in Eastern Europe*

  • #461
From presser: Ryan had personal matters going on and thought this was the right thing to do. Life insurance was not for him but for his family. LE doesn't know if he is with the Russian-speaking woman. Ryan feels bad about the amount of hours put in to find him.
Bbm.
Well in that case he needs to show it by reimbursing LE and any other agency who put in $$ and man hours to find him.
And maybe apologize to his family for letting them think he'd drowned and died ?
Unfreakingbelievable.
Omo.

I was going to say today (on the post with the livestream) but the two comments are now gone! one of them was very detailed (from one of E(his wife)'s neighbours) so I wonder if the sheriff's office is deleting them to respect their privacy.
yes I noticed them down as well
seems like they are making the facebook page Ryan friendly
find it interesting so many saying god will forgive him, was he religious
because Uzbekistan is almost all Muslim

I read something on here talking about his anti-abortion posts on his social media. I’m assuming he held himself out as Christian.

I think he is a jerk to do that to his three children and his wife and his entire community. I personally would not want him back.

Can Interpol run a search on their computer system to see which country he has used his passport at so that he can get caught? or does this only happen in the movies?

I noticed tackling cybercrime is one of Interpol's main goals and as I am worried he might have dipped into his children's college fund and taken a lot of money with him via overseas transfers (and arranged for life insurance to feel less guilty about it) to last him for a few years, I wonder if they could use that card to get Interpol to run that search for them (sheriff's office.)?

All my speculation, of course.

I'm confused. They said he's in Eastern Europe, so he's NOT in Uzbekistan, right? So the "Russian lady" is maybe from Uzbekistan, but perhaps living in a different country in Eastern Europe, where Ryan went to? I'm getting so confused.(Not aimed at you, Megnut, just a general question based off your post.)
If he was anywhere in Eastern Europe, bar Russia or Belarus, it would be fairly easy for US law enforcement to get at him once they locate him. Most of the Eastern European countries have very good relations with the US.

the feds know which country he's flew into
or he used a fake id to book a flight in Canada
Cybercrime is also what the Feds do, so yeah they are working together for sure

yes and this is why they are hoping he just turns himself in and saves them some more money

Glad he wasn't harmed, I'm sure none of us wanted for that to be the case !

But he needs to pay restitution if needed and apologize to his family, and all who looked for him.
Especially feel bad for those kids.
What a lousy thing to do to them. :(

Snipped

Maybe he hopped on another ebike in Eastern Europe and rode away to another country. I say that in jest, but...maybe.

(I'm remembering a Mr. Bean movie where there was a chase scene on motorized wheelchairs.)

FWIW, I think they do have some idea where he is.

LE need him to return voluntarily and that's the carrot, that he has a family to come home to.

Cue the Hallmark movie.

(The Feds will be waiting in the chimney.)

Yes- he appears safe and is still alive as of the proof of life video… but that’s a really skunky thing to do to your family… LE and restitution aside…

part of me is still hoping for *the rest of the story…* to somehow not just make him such a jerk, his poor wife and kids! :(

Apologies if already posted. I have not really followed this case.
Article today:

What an incredible jerk.

That insuance policy he took out will be useless to his family that needs financial support.

Best his wife files for divorce and goes after all their and his assets they can find.

If he made his choice to run away like a big coward and fraud, he should pay by never being able to return to the US or see his children.

What a time waster!! not even now he mans up and says ''I am in X (country name) and I will go to the nearest American embassy within the next few hours''. I hope he gets charged for all these extra hours of labour sheriff officers are putting in to track his location. This is so incredibly disrespectful towards authorities! that should be a crime too.

Am I correct in assuming the insurance policy he took out cannot be cashed by his family unless they locate his body (with Ryan knowing this, as he was planning to flee the country) ?
Agreed 100 % to the above poster who said it's worthless.
Omo.

he transferred money into oversees accounts before he left
money his family was entitled to by law
he only left them a cheap life insurance policy worth nothing
Bbm.

It's possible (speculation here) that the wife is pretending to want him back --- in order to get him to return ?
I.e., maybe she's getting help from the authorities, it sounds like he IS facing monetary charges.

Also curious if he had a 401K that he cashed out ?
Imo.

Borgwardt could potentially face an obstruction charge, the sheriff said.

The county is seeking around $35,000 to $40,000 for restitution, the sheriff said.
