The Ashland County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help in locating a 39-year-old man who has been missing for nearly a week.


Shane A. Cadotte was last seen Friday night on West Denomie Street, near the Bad River Lodge and Casino, in Odanah. Authorities said he was reported missing, “possibly under circumstances indicating that he is endangered or has been harmed.”

Cadotte is described as Native American, 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighing 170 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. A clothing description and other details were not available.

The Ashland County Sheriff's Office reported Friday that a body was found Thursday afternoon near a trailer on Bear Trap Road in the town of Sanborn, between Ashland and Odanah.

An autopsy was conducted Friday, and the body was identified as Cadotte.
