The stations aren't treating the U.S. Attorney with much respect. The minute he started talking they just started talking over him and went to commercials. HLN even started covering other stories.

A shame, because he's a very good speaker and is making an excellent speech.

They spelled his name - anybody catch that? I think they spelled Michael with two e's - Micheel.

I think he just stumbled over it, like, "M-I-C-H-E...uh, A-E-L."

I expressed to my husband that I'm upset that this guy served in the Army. He said something like, 'Well, the Army is a slice/a segment of the profile of the United States/we have our share of everything.'

Not exactly a consolation but I guess it's true. :maddening:

Police Chief John Edwards:

The person of interest is a person who showed up at the scene after the shooting, but left before officers could ascertain his identity or what he was doing there.

Millions of Americans have served in the military during and since this perp's service. I really wish the news would quit emphasizing that he was in the Army. That was many years ago and he wasn't a war vet. Just doesn't seem relevant to me, except that they chucked him out, which goes to his character.

Still trying to determine how Page got there.

Nine millimeter handgun used in shooting.

No active investigation of Page was in progress.

The U.S. military has also had problems with white supremacist groups in its ranks for a couple of decades now. Though they're not large, its a problem and one they really need to clean up. IIRC, Timothy McVeigh was involved in one of those groups while he was in the Army.

I couldnt agree with you more STEADFAST. Frankly, I am already sick of hearing he was in the military years ago.

So what? That was 14 years ago.

IMO
