Press conference delayed ~ maybe 30 minutes, CNN doesn't know.

LE currently debriefing those who were inside the gurdwara at the time of the shooting.

It seemed that the killer was targeting the priests. I wonder why. If it was strictly an anti-Sikh hate crime, then I think he would have shot into the crowd, not caring who was hit.

Maybe he had a history with them for some personal reason.

CNN commenting as to why the identity of gunman is still unknown after six hours or so since the shooting.

I only mentioned the shooter's potential motive/not the feelings of the vast population. I hope people didn't take my post that way - other than you. Geesh.

I didn't take your post in ANY particular way, I was just pointing out that NO ONE knows who the shooter was or why. He very well could have been part of their own community, or one of the reported guests from out of the country here for a wedding, or someone from another city or state. Many assumptions and incorrect accusations were made about the Gabby G./Arizona shooting that turned out to be the exact opposite of the truth.

Members of this temple community have been in the media stating that they have been part of the community for YEARS and received no mistreatment of any kind.

Could be. People are looking at racial or religious bias, understandably, but this guy could have had some personal connection to those he shot. Like that guy who went on a shooting spree in an Amish school, he delivered milk to them iirc.

That's kind of what I was thinking, but then again, I'll never understand someone that wants to inflict violence on others. I don't know why I bother to try to.

I misunderstood you. Anyway, just speculation at this point as we wait for more information to unfold.

Earlier someone (from the police force I think) was explaining how they have to approach the scene as if any of the people inside could be involved in committing the crime but are posing as a bystander. That the responders have to remember to look up into the ceiling as well as out and behind things. They have to carefully consider everyone's responses and all that takes a long time.

adding ~ Glad someone figured out how to spell 'gurdwara'. Does that mean temple?

CNN reporting LE is lined up doing a grid search all around the area.

  • #136
Per CNN, they're getting ready to do a grid search around the temple - about 60 strong tactical force and they have their guns drawn.

  • #137
I never thought about that before - that one of the bad guys could potentially pretend to blend in with the crowd and act like a victim.
