Wondered about that also. Having some trouble following the timeline here, let alone the relationships, alleged actions and possible criminality of participants.

The above article states repeatedly RL wasn’t injured. Mom had intentionally been helping him avoid capture after a warrant was issued for his arrest due to living in a house with minors. RL was found in the woods with Coyle.

Mom screwed up, Coyle screwed up, thankfully 6 yr old RL didn’t pay for their screw up.

It really isn't anything out of the ordinary for paederasts to begin offending as teenagers against younger children. More common than consenting kids of similar age getting prosecuted, as far as I know.

Given that he took off into the woods with a six year old, I'm guessing that his interests lie with abusing young children, and have done for a long time.

This is very true! In fact, I believe MOST pedo males fall in this category. At the same time, it's also true that a LOT of 18 year old carry a SO label for life because the parents of their 17 year old girlfriends used legal charges as a parenting tool when they lost control of their daughter's choices.

~~I'm not saying those 18 year old kids were not guilty for not backing off at the parent's demands but also, that's a really severe penalty to be saddled with for life. I can't search and find out if my house painter had multiple violent and/or robbery/gang convictions by the time he was18 but I can find out if my doctor's 46 year old son had a high school flame when he was 18 whose parents didn't like him.

It seems there should be more refined categories for these kind of charges. Raping a 2 year old at 18 just isn't in the same ballpark as a willing and eager parent-defying 17 year old girlfriend.

WISN 12 News dug into Coyle's past, obtaining a criminal complaint from 2008. When Coyle was 17, a jury convicted him of sexually assaulting a younger cousin multiple times.

And it has been determined that he has SA'd other young family members in the past. One he was charged with and convicted for. Another was a family member that came forward publicly and accused him of doing so when she was a child.

So if he went off, away from home, hiding for days with a 6 yr old, it seems likely that something untoward was going on. Perhaps just grooming still though?

No, I am pretty sure the victim was a young family member of his. Not a relationship w/ a slightly younger schoolmate, etc.

IMO, mom was trying to cover her own self here. She did not want to lose her free room and board, imo. And she didn't want to be in trouble for allowing her young child to be in his clutches, after LE was already at their door earlier warning her.

I'm not sure I agree, that RL isn't paying for this screw up. Maybe not in the worst way, but it is still a freaking ugly mess as it is. IMO

I didn't know that. I have seen non-custodial parents run off with kids, get caught, kids returned safely, and there's no name change into initials. So I thought the initials happened when there was a likelihood of SA of some kind.

We haven’t had an update of her well-being since that day, correct? I take any “she wasn’t injured” type statements with a grain because true forensic interviewing wouldn’t have occurred.

And tbh if SA is normalized in a family, it’s not going to be mentioned as something wrong right away

Those tattoos strike me as almost childlike and incongruous, given Coye's size and age, but okay.

Glad this has resolved, at least in terms of RL's safe recovery. Hopefully her welfare will be much more carefully monitored going forward.

It's not uncommon for child predators to maintain interests that appeal to children of their preferred age and/or gender. It's an easy in for grooming. There's this cool grown up who likes what I like! I sit in his lap and we watch cartoons and have special cuddles.

I hope he never sees the light of day again except through bars or Perspex.
