Iowa Co. authorities searching for missing woman prone to seizures, believed to be at risk

23 yr old, Stephanie Rene Wallace

Last seen: Wednesday, June 2, 2021 in Dodgeville, WI.
Wallace was waiting for a family member in a vehicle outside of Wal-Mart in Dodgeville, but when the family member returned, Wallace was gone.

Wallace has a history of epilepsy, and she left her epilepsy medications in the vehicle. Police said Wallace needs her medications on a daily basis.

Wallace was last seen wearing a gray tank top, denim jean shorts and had a brown purse with her. She is 5 feet, 6 inches tall and weighs 140 pounds. She has blue eyes and brown, straight long hair.

Authorities said Wallace lives in the rural Dodgeville and Spring Green area.

To Note:
•Authorities explained that Wallace was a low-functioning adult who has a history of epilepsy and is prone to seizures.
•They noted that after she disappeared, the medications she takes daily to prevent seizures was left behind.

•Wallace lives in the rural Dodgeville/Spring Green area.

•Authorities added she may have been seen in the Enid, Oklahoma, area two days after her disappearance, but they have not confirmed that sighting.
•Wallace, however, does have ties to that area.

•Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to call the Iowa Co. Sheriff’s Office. They do ask specifically that people call rather than posting via social media or messaging the information.

Was she dropped off and then did some shopping before the family member was to return and pick her up? (Because it is stated she left her medication behind.)

the Fox47 article reports that Stephanie was waiting outside in a family member's car while the family member went inside; when said member came out, Stephanie was gone and had left her medication behind.

State Driving Laws Database

Before I had read that article, I was looking up what state laws say about epilepsy and driving. In WI, a person must be seizure-free for three months.

First thing to check is who else regularly gave her rides other than family.

She works in Eau Claire (175 miles, north-east), so she either carpools, or drives there herself. Which would explain her medication. I think without that she wouldn't be allowed to drive I pressume.

Where do you see that? It's tough to imagine that anyone would drive 175 miles/3 hours to work?

Yes but I don't think there's any chance someone described in MSM (see article in opening post) as "low functioning" is commuting 6 hours to work each day.

Well, after looking at her Facebook, im a little worried about self harm. If she struggles with her physical health (seizures), and possible developmental delays, and mental health (she talks a lot about depression and anxiety), this is a hard age. The desires of an adult but lots of times, the romantic maturity of a teen. Hopefully she just wanted some "independence" to see and do as she pleases.

Stay safe, Stephanie!!! You have plenty of rights, as an adult. Let someone help you navigate those! There are people who care and understand.

Enid OK seems like a pretty long ways for her to go. It’s possible though. Especially if she has ties there. IMO

WalMarts typically have several cameras and usually of a pretty good quality, at least in all the cases I've seen where footage from a WalMart has been used. I'm curious if any cameras caught her getting into someone else's car. I feel like that is the most likely way she left there. The other option is on foot of course, but would take a lot longer to get anywhere. Maybe leaving the medication behind was on accident as she was trying to get out of there quickly? MOO

FWIW (probably nothing) I have to say I am glad to see that we've got more information than just "at-risk" in this case. I don't know if it can/will help but its much better than just saying at-risk or endangered, which is useless. I wish them well. IMO

Yes I went through the friends list, very strange. But there are people in the list who are from Enid.

I still think its her account, it looks like it was setup at the beginning of May. Right after her last post on her other account. Young folks regularly start new accounts. So nothing strange about that but the activity on the June 4th could be.

I just hope that she can contact anyone soon.

The new FB page (link above) has a profile pic uploaded on the 2nd May, (which is 1 month before she went missing) and 2 different Arabic men have commented on it. One lives in Egypt, another in the UAE.

I wonder why she is allowing them to be friends with her? It sounds like it has the potential for nefarious doings with sending online photos of body parts and the like...

I can't see why else these men would want to be friends with a much younger American girl who lives on another continent.......

Enid police are seeking information from community members that will help locate a missing Wisconsin woman who was last seen at an Enid residence.

Stephanie Rene Wallace, 23, of Spring Green, Wis., was last seen at a home on North Adams in Enid on June 5.

“We are assisting the Dodgeville Police Department and began our own missing person investigation,” Enid police officials said.
