Why panic as opposed to, let's say, drunk or crazy or plain careless if she was going to commit suicide and knew she wasn't going to pay for a broken door?

Oh mental illness can cause anxiety or panic. Drunk or high is also possible. But she had a history of odd behavior, imo.
