It appears the semen sample for Terry's rape kit has been run for DNA and it does not match Terry's Fiancee or other suspects in the case.

Inexplicably this case has just been entered into NamUs. Anyone understand why?

Some cases are making there way to NamUs because of the public entering them and the families entering them. There have been a few I have entered in (Terry was not one of them) who are not in NamUs. Some Law Enforcement agencies have not approved on them because they are unaware of what NamUs is. Hopefully one day every county in the country will be aware of what NamUs is and how much it can help aid in a search for information on a missing person.

I wonder if this means the DNA did not match her.

There’s been a confession, police not commenting now.

ETA: confession to a nurse at a hospital. (MOO, the hospital is Mendota, a state mental health facility.)

According to the police, they have DNA. We'll have to see if it's a match.

I came across this unsolved case when browsing tonight. I had not heard of this one and I am in Wisconsin. It is very interesting. Terry Dolowy, 24 went missing, 4 days later her headless body was found burning in a ditch. The articles at the link start out in 1985 up to 2001 I believe. They were in 2001 discussing DNA evidence. Her little white poodle named Suzie disapeared with her. I am gonna go search to see if I can come up with more current info. Here is the link for the articles.

''Michael Raymond Popp of Tomah was arrested Monday on one count of first-degree murder in the slaying of 24-year-old Terry Dolowy. He was being held at the Vernon County Jail on $1 million cash bail.

Popp, 60, had not retained an attorney as of Wednesday morning, the Vernon County Clerk's Office said.

Prosecutors said Popp knew Dolowy, a River Forest, Illinois, native who was a senior at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. At the time of her killing, he lived a short distance from where Dolowy lived in La Crosse County with her fiancé, according to a criminal complaint.''

So Terry Dolowy is listed as a missing person even though her body was found? I wondered if it was because she had been decapitated and the head is still missing. Kelly Disney's case is like that. They found her head but not her body and so she is still considered missing.

Until they have all existing parts they keep them on NaMus as missing.

I think that they should mention these details.

“I still think that (puzzle piece) will surface sometime here in the future,” Bjerkos said.

The case reverberated throughout the community, said La Crosse County Circuit Court Judge Scott Horne.

“When she was discovered the way she was, it was just a horrific moment,” Horne said.
