The Baraboo News Republic says 58-year-old Thomas Reisenauer was charged Thursday. The School District of Mauston had placed him on administrative leave when the investigation began in March. The school board accepted his resignation the following month....."

Not only do child collectors and pedophiles have a playbook but so do communities. The guy is always helpful, caring, keeps a nice yard, has a vindictive ex-wife or two, children lie, and he's being framed. I guess it's just the really naive community members who bother to write comments. I wish they'd have to come back and eat their words when the truth (whatever it is) comes out. Let me guess, Mr. Reisenauer was investigated for child and allowed to take an administrative leave. He was also allowed to resign rather than to be fired. The school district did some smooth phasing out. Do I have this right? Does the public somehow feel safer in reading headlines that say "Ex-principal"? Are we not smart enough to figure out that he WAS principal while he was engaging in collecting his nasty child AND dealing with children all day, everyday?

How ballsy of him to be looking up child on his SCHOOL COMPUTER! I noticed that the article was sure to mention that none of the images were of any of the students at the school.

Lovejac--I've noticed that comment included in just about every single article where a perp is a teacher, coach or day care provider. It's like it's not quite so bad if it's not a local child or a child you know. Grrrrrrrr.

While starting a thread on another Wisconsin educator, Michael Wang, I noticed that Reisenauer has been sentenced.....if you want to call 90 days a sentence.

Reisenauer avoids prison

"A former Mauston school principal who used school computers to view pornographic images of underage females will not go to prison for the crime...."

"....Defense attorney Marcus Berghahn told the court before sentencing that Reisenauer was an addict who suffered mental problems and not a sexual deviate. "He used the school computer to self-medicate, to address his depression and to deal with the stress," Berghahn told the court. "Tom used as others use alcohol...."

90 days for child ? Really? Wow.

Our education system needs a HUGE overhaul. Quit focusing on test scores and all - start working on getting the right, UPSTANDING, MORALLY CORRECT people in our classrooms and the test scores will come.
