The Marshall County Sheriff's Department said the couple was supposed to be coming home from Wisconsin on Sunday morning but never made it home.

William, 80, was driving a gray 2014 Ford Focus with an Indiana license plate number "TF644."

William is described as 5 feet 10 inches, 170 pounds, and has gray hair and blue eyes.

Jane, 80, is described as 5 feet 1 inch, 100 pounds, and has gray hair and brown eyes.

There is a post about William and Jane missing on the Plymouth Police Department in Plymouth, Indiana FB page:

Plymouth Police Department in Plymouth, Indiana

The PPD had a correction at the top of the post about the vehicle, but we have the correct info in Post #1. I really with that the PPD had been more specific about where the couple had been travelling from.

What odd wording in this article, for sure! I don't know quite what to make of it, unless he has a medical condition, and she doesn't?

“William is missing from Plymouth, which is about 127 miles north of Indianapolis. He is believed to be in extreme danger and require medical assistance.”

Extreme danger from what? An 80 year old lady, or something else? *scratches head*

If it's medical, then what would be dangerous- diabetes? Epilepsy? High blood pressure?Wouldn't they have his medicines or anything he needs to use with them on this trip?

Re-reading that again scares me. Notice they're not saying that the wife is in danger? Is there any chance something happened between the two that turned violent, and he tried to call for help, which is why they believe he needs medical assistance?

Or maybe he’s sick, she’s his caretaker and made some sort of threat before disappearing with him. It sounds like something is up beyond being missing.

The couple was last seen checking out of a hotel in Janesville on Sunday morning. According to Indiana officials, they have no ties to the Janesville area. Their family members said they were supposed to be making their way home from a trip to Chicago.

The article certainly was worded strangely. Perhaps the only way to get a Silver Alert was to announce he was in danger due to a medical condition. Otherwise, it's just two older adults missing. A Silver Alert would help with finding them in different states I would think. MOO.

FYI, I live in Indiana and it seems like the last couple of years almost every missing person ends up with a Silver Alert status. It used to just be for elderly, then they seemed to add autistic people and then it seems they just tag it on everyone missing. The "silver" part was for old people initially, pretty sure, like those with dementia that had wandered off and the like.

Anyway, glad these folks were found!

So glad to hear that they are safe.

I am still intrigued about the part that he was in danger. If they hadn't been found, people would have assumed the worst about the wife. It doesn't even sound like they were missing, so to speak- they probably took their time getting to Chicago and didn't think anything of it. Lots of unanswered questions here.

I have some elderly friends who I could see something like this happening to. They are completely capable, but I can just see them going “missing” and having no contact with no clue that anyone is worried about them. They just recently got cell phones and I know that one of them doesn’t know how to answer calls on it. But that says nothing about their ability to be on their own and manage life, including travel. Glad this pair was found safe!!
