Will March 19 'Supermoon' Trigger Natural Disasters?

The sky here tonight is not quite as clear as last night. Thin, wispy cloud cover kinda swirling around as the moon rises. Just like last night, the sky appears backlit. I suppose it's the moonglow that is making visible the cloud swirl. Lovely.

I also noticed this morning that the azaleas around town seemed to have bloomed over night. (I get very excited about azaleas. :) )

Hello, Spring!

I just found the moon, it seems very close to my house...
Weird to think that the people in Japan are seeing the same moon tonight.

Saw it tonight when we were driving home. We were driving along the Gulf and it was perfectly clear. It was huge and red for about a half hour. It was beautiful and so cool! I wish I had stopped the car to take a picture :(

Took my daughter to go find the moon, we had to go up and over a hill to find it. Kinda hidden by clouds though....still pretty to look at.

They would have seen the moon several hours before we did, but yes, a cool thought that we all see the same moon. :)

That moon is huge! It isn't esp bright here but it is big.

I noticed last month the full moons seemed brighter than usual. Wish it was brighter here tonight.

Hi Mysteriew, I just drove the freeway to downtown Portland and BANG, suddenly there he was, full face sitting right above the trees. It was so bright it was absolutely glowing, really, what a phenom to see.

I thank the powers that be which parted our supposedly thunderstorm clouds tonight to let the moon peek thru. That is when I first saw him, peeking out behind a cloud, and suddenly the whole sky revolved around him. xox

Hey Bessie, Is it the first day of Spring tomoz?

Oh, Sorry Kimster, I would say seeing it was well worth an 18 year wait. xox

Pouring rain here. Will be for a few days. It rains almost everyday anyway.

I wish the kids could have seen the moon!

It is indeed, Scandi. The vernal equinox takes place tomorrow at 7:21 p.m. EDT.

Well, no natural disasters occurred. So much for that theory, lol.

I just talked to my friend in the nursing home, and nothing unusual happened there last night, either. :)

we had some of the biggest lightening and loudest thunder I've heard in years last night. All 5 kids were in bed with us.. and the usually don't even blink at thunder storms...
It was a sleepless night LOL

How's the forecast for tonight, Kimster? If it clears, you might still see the effects of the "supermoon".

Wishing you clear skies. :)

Not even a hint of it where I am-- thick, solid, cloud cover and rain. :(

The moon WAS awesome!!!! I am sorry that some of you had clouds and couldn't see it.

for those of you who are Facebook members, 'like' Surf Carolina Magazine to see some amazing pics of the super moon rising over the Atlantic Ocean.

YAY! Everything normal here!

Well, the expert that predicted some huge natural disaster, estimated it would be the 19th- 26th..... As the moon cycle changes within the week, so I guess there is still time for something crazy to happen....

Was looking for a link to his prediction, but now I can't find it.... :loser:
