Wisconsin residents watch cars vanish in giant sinkhole

Around 300 residents at an apartment complex in Madison, Wisconsin had an unpleasant awakening early Friday morning. A leaking water pipe not only meant they all had to be evacuated, but several residents ran outside to see their cars slowly disappearing in the giant sinkhole that had formed.

That's some leaky pipe!

I woke up Wednesday morning to my parking lot being torn up....and I was getting ready to leave town on Thursday. There was a note on the door saying that work on the parking lot would begin Thursday. :doh:

Needless to say, I wasn't happy. Can't imagine how these people felt who woke up to find the parking lot -- and their cars with it -- sinking into the ground. Pass the coffee, please. :coffeecup:
