That's correct - but the indictment will only be the legal "statute" that KC will be charged under, i.e., code section, type of charge (manslaughter/murderI). That's all he will get at indictment time. Then the process of discovery begins

He will file a blanket motion to compel for discovery ... since he isn't sure what they have and what they don't ... something most prosecutors love; 'cause then they get to flood the CDA's office with boxes upon boxes of evidence ... relevant or not and mucho redundant! But because a lot of this evidence has been released already and I assume filtered by JB's staff ... it won't have the same overwhelming effect!

I wonder if there's more than one LE surveillance camera? I would think it would be advantageous to have a second camera on the street directly behind the Anthony home. Should Casey attempt to leave by going over the back fence to the street behind, a second camera would pick up those movements.

Yes, esp if Baez gets her off confinement, this weekend would be a good time for her to boogie out of town. Hope she's watched carefully if she gets off confinement so she can, ummmm, "search for her daughter".

I remember when Tony P. was answering questions he said that bond would be revoked if additional charges were filed. You were right in your assessment. I would imagine the prosecution will then ask for "no bond"...but ultimately could it be the judge's decision? Not sure if things work differently in Florida.
It's been mentioned on these threads a number of times that murder, in Florida, is a non-bondable offense. I can't find the Florida statute to verify that, however in searching Google I can't find a single case of someone who has been bonded out while awaiting trial for murder.

Question for those with GJ experience or knowledge:

1) How long do you estimate it will take to present the evidence to the GJ?

2) Will the GJ come back with an indictment right away? I've read that sometimes they can take 30-60 days.

Yep, and WESH just now stated that they have confirmed this. It's going to the GJ on Tues. :)

She could be back behind bars by Friday

Show of hands....who wants, okay who needs this trial to be on Courttv?????

The one thing there wasn't which I was looking for was diapers. There were no diapers, no pull ups, which CA said Caylee still used.

I was also looking for diapers........none were purchased. There was a large bottle of some sort of juice. I saw Bisquick in both purchases - what was she using so much Bisquick for?

I'd imagine that Judge S, who slapped her with a $500K bond for the neglect and fraud charges will have no trouble revoking/refusing any bond ;)

She may not get any bond. Florida does not allow bond on some offenses. Depending on the evidence, they may up-grade the charges with a capital crime with extenuating circumstances (because of drugs/chloroform) and make it a non-bondable offense.

And I agree with you and Turbo!;)

I think there's some 'big plans' in the works for Miss KC.
And they can't come soon enough!

ITA - Ms. Casey's going to get :slap: by a GJ and Judge S and then be :behindbar:
:bananajump:

Tim and Larry P might be zeroing in on where she is. This might be why Baez is becoming afflicted with motioning sickness.

I agree with you. I think they know where Caylee is located at and that is why they are going to FL. This is the thought that I had after list night on Nancy Grace. What if Tim Miller actually located the body(like maybe saw it in the water or something to that affect) when he was in FL searching last time but did not want to take the chance in moving it until water went down or it was easier to get to?

Maybe they could send all our posts to just piss him off!

Is the defense allowed to be present at the GJ hearing?

If we're lucky, that's what will happen. I'm not a FL attorney, nor have I had time to research whether or not FL allows bail for a capital offense, but it's certainly on top of my wish list! :D

Depending on how many witnesses they call, it can be lengthy. Can you imagine sitting "waiting" to see what the charges are? The Anthony's were explosive before...........this is going to be bad.

I believe they will put her back in jail tomorrow because of those threats. I believe that is why LP is going to Orlando tonight. If it were just for the GJ hearing, he would not come in to Orlando until the first of the week.

Grand juries operate in two different ways, depending on the jurisdiction and type of case. Where the defendant already has been arrested on a preliminary charging document such as a complaint, and the time is short before the defendant must have a preliminary hearing or be released, the grand jury does little investigation. It merely listens to some brief testimony, usually hearsay from the arresting officer if the jurisdiction permits grand juries to rely on hearsay, as most do; rubber-stamps the prosecutor’s charging decision; and thus deprives your client of his or her statutory right to a preliminary hearing. With such charging grand juries, there is little you can do unless your client wants to take the risk of testifying.

One great thing about this GJ indictment is that Baez can't go and hear what they have to say!! He will still be in the dark except for a few people that MAY be on his side that will tell him what they were asked. I want that guy to stay in the dark as long as possible. I am praying the judge denies all the requests he is making on friday.
He's only in the dark if he doesn't follow websleuths and view the evidence released to the public on the web! I think the Judge will grant the request to disclose exculpatory evidence. However, there doesn't appear to be any exculpatory evidence.

When it is time to make a charging decision, the prosecutor will summarize the testimony the grand jury heard and the gist of the important documents. Before the grand jury votes, the prosecutor briefly describes the legal elements of the charges and how the evidence satisfies each element. Then the prosecutor will ask the grand jury members if they have any questions and leave for them an indictment he or she has drafted. The grand jury has no role in drafting the indictment; it merely votes up or down on the version presented by the prosecutor. A majority of those present suffices to return an indictment, and the defense never learns what the vote was.

I don't have court TV I say it should have it's own channel, and no damn commercials.

Sorry if this has been asked and answered but how long does a GJ usually take to indict those ham sandwiches? :)
Not long. You want mayo, or mustard?

And that is what it is ALL ABOUT! Justice for this Precious Child that will NEVER have a chance to grow up because IMO her mother tossed her out likes yesterdays garbage. I didn't think that I could be so Sad and so Happy at the same time.

Me too. My head knows Caylee is deceased. I thought my heart knew it too until I started reading this thread. Happy and sad.
