Here you go Galvino - second story down.

Good catch!

Btw - Octomum is giving lots of interviews to the British rags - newspapers.

I hate to think of her getting paid for those British interviews. :furious: They need to stop giving her the attention she craves! It's obvious they're paying her or I'm sure she wouldn't be doing the interviews.

In that picture on her way to get her nails done - she looks a lot more like Janeane Garofalo than Angelina Jolie!

Good heavens, I didn't realize that they were paying her?!

Well how nice will it feel for any of these tabloids WHEN she fails miserably in attempting to raise these children. I hope and pray that CPS are quietly, privately investigating her and the major discussion in that hospital better be how to keep those newborns out of her 'claws'.

Absolute nutcase, needs to be locked up. Something bad will end up happening here.

I don't have proof of that, but I can't imagine she's talking to them for free. I really wish that none of these places would talk to her. She wants attention and money and that is what she is getting when they publicize her.

I'm with you in hoping that CPS is investigating this. I'll go one further and say I really hope California (and hopefully the Federal gov't too) is investigating her money situation.

British/Irish love their tabloid rags... that is probably the only ones giving her the attention. Where ours are weekly, theirs are daily(about one of the few daily tabloid rags in the US is the New York Post). I admit it, when I set down in London or Dublin, I grab the tabloid rags and catch up on the gossip. Time the news shops open up, people are grabbing them to read on the train. Given that the Sterling is worth more than the dollar, anything they pay her in Sterling, is double in dollars. Mind you, she's not getting any good publicity off of it, because she is probably being presented as an American freak show, with readers probably eating it up... which, she is. Unfortunately, a freak show us taxpayers are having to foot the bill for. :|

33 is old for an egg donor. They need the youngest, freshest eggs to use for women who can't get pregnant using their own.

I realize that. Actually, I never said that she might be donating her eggs right now. I was talking about overall, over the course of the years. This is someone who has been trying to get pregnant since she was a teenager. There is certainly a possibility that she agreed to donate eggs to various patients of this doctor 5, 10 or whenever years ago, froze the eggs for later use and in turn maybe he even gave her free or discounted IVF treatment? Of course, that was entirely speculation on my part based on the article about his most recent 49 yr old patient. But, again, just clarifying that I'm aware that she'd not be able to currently donate eggs at the age of 33.

Come to think of it, though, we are talking about a doctor who we know is not ethical. So, who is to say whether or not he would have even cared whether it was a bad idea to get egg donations from someone her age.

This has become surreal-
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090214/ap_on_re_us/octuplets

Suleman has signed an exclusive deal with an agent that represents or has represented Pastor Rich Warren. They are a "Christian Talent Agency."

Are you kidding me? Reading all the links of her having her nails done and shopping yesterday was head spinning enough.

I would think that the state has a sufficient idea of the woman's motivations regarding this situation-gonna be interesting to watch the rest of this unfold. I have yet to notice her with her 6-anyone?

The only time the public has seen her with her other 6 is during the NBC interview.

I agree she's a right prize this 'un. I think this is all going to go belly up - pardon the pun.

I feel for her kids but not her.

Grab the barf bag before reading... here is one of her "doesn't make a lick of sense" excuses for being on foodstamps:

*She adds: “The only reason I applied for them is that I have put Elijah in a private school. He needs tutoring to stay focused.

“But I am not on welfare where you get cash aid for children. I have never got that.”*

You're right. That makes absolutely no sense. The more I read the things she says, the sicker I get. I feel SO badly for those children. They will never have a normal life living with her.

I haven't posted on this thread for a few days because it is making my head ache when I read her blather.

Here is what gets me...rant coming sorry...She has the money to go get her nails done, pays a Nanny 500 bones a week and has a child in private school.

Yet, she collects workman's comp (injury pay), SSI on three children, food stamps, the state of CA is picking up her medical bills. A church is giving her a new home.

It was stated in one article she hasn't worked since 1999.

Top this off with the fact she made a choice, a conscious determined decision, to have 14 children through IVF.

I pray for these children. I have no empathy or sympathy for her.

Just a good article about this from the LA Times this morning. :
http://www.latimes.com/news/local/politics/cal/la-me-fertility14-2009feb14,0,5779957.story
Octuplets draw critical eyes to fertility industry
>>snip<<
Many called for Dr. Michael Kamrava to be stripped of his medical license -- or worse -- for providing the fertility treatments that led to Suleman's 14 children, including last month's octuplets.
>>snip<<

Rosalind Saxton had a different reaction.

"If anything, this incident has increased my confidence in the doctor," said the 41-year-old, who has been preparing to do in vitro fertilization with Kamrava since three other doctors turned her down, telling her to lose weight first.

Suleman "was successful," she said. "That would give anybody confidence."

Saxton's view contrasts sharply with that of fertility experts, who consider any pregnancy resulting in more than twins to be a poor outcome because of the danger it poses to the mother and babies.

Her view points to a key problem in fertility medicine: Treatment is a private bargain between doctor and patient, insulated from the outside world.

If she is getting food stamps, she is getting welfare. Why is she denying this?

I can't understand how she affords the things she does. I have three kids: 17, 13, and 1. I pay $360 a month for daycare. I struggled to come up with the $70 for my daughter's graduation cap and robe because times are so tight. I am married and we live in a two-income household. She's jobless and pays $500 for a nanny AND private school tuition? How???? I can't even imagine spending money to get my nails done (I am a woman, so this isn't as weird as it sounds). There are so many things higher on my priority list right now: dentist, some work around the house, upcoming college costs for oldest daughter. Was that Wii stuff she was buying in the video picture? She can afford a Wii???? We could barely scrape together enough money for my 13 year old's Nintendo DS for her birthday! What am I doing wrong???

You are not living in CA. But don't move now because we are broke and Nadya is only the tip of the iceberg here.

This lady is driving me nuts! I can barely stomach reading about her anymore! First she's in a top-secret location due to death threats; then she's out shopping for games & fake nails the next day. Uggghhh!

You know what's crazy is that if she'd only had a single birth, twins or even triplets last month, we probably would have never even heard of her! And she would have been able to continue her grand plan of milking the system; being "disabled"; and living in her own little sort of self entitled princess world... just as she has been able to do up until now with her first 6 children (and perhaps after now too I guess).

She makes me sick. I feel soooo badly for all of these children. :furious:

I think this whole getting her nails thing done is HORRIBLE...I highly doubt that any other mother with a child in that NICU has taken the time off from even one child to go get her nails done TWICE since the baby was born. Besides that, she should not be allowed by the NICU staff to even TOUCH those babies without gloves on as nail salons and fake nails themselves are vast incubators for all kinds of bacteria and infections! There are dozens of articles on the huge numbers of salons in CA that have been involved in large outbreaks of bacterial infections!

Early on they said she was going to be breast feeding the babies- with her being out and about the way she is I have to wonder if that's gone by the wayside. I'd think you'd be pumping a good part of your day in order to feed that many babies and wouldn't have time to shop for Wiis and get your nails done. And JBean - I hear ya about the cost of living in California - which after this morning's vote will get far worse. I think our Golden State is a bit tarnished these days don't you?

oh my God did that budget pass? I have been afraid to look and I mean that.
10% sales tax, double car tax, tax on income tax, and 12 cents gas tax? did that pass?

We know the babies were being fed donated breast milk, at the beginning. I would help she had the heart to at least contribute her own milk, as well... those babies need all of the antibodies they can get and the best way is through her milk.
