[h=1]Toronto heightens Canada Day security amid ISIS threat[/h]
Heavily armed police, surveillance cameras and undercover officers will be strategically placed throughout the event and a barricade will be positioned around the party to thwart any attempted attacks by vehicles, Douglas-Cook said.

These security measures come as a national security memo obtained by CTV News warns that ISIS “explicitly named Canada” as a potential target after the Manchester attack in May.

ISIS has warned Muslims to avoid markets and public gatherings in Canada, and threatened to use “explosives, vehicles and beheadings to kill crusaders,” according to the memo.
“The big problem these days is not the well-organized terrorist attack – we’re really good at stopping those – it’s the spontaneous attack with vehicles and with knives, and that’s much harder to defend against,” Thompson said.

"An anti-terrorism investigation has been launched in Paris after a man attempted to drive a car into a crowd outside a Paris mosque, before being blocked by heroic drivers.

GERMANY MUST BRACE FOR MORE ATTACKS BY RADICALIZED MUSLIMS: OFFICIALS

Reuters
http://www.reuters.com/article/us-germany-security-idUSKBN19P1MY

The agency's annual report for 2016 said there were 24,400 Islamists in Germany, including around 9,700 Salafists, and the number of Salafists had increased to 10,100 this year. The total also includes some 10,000 members of the Turkish Islamist Milliu Gorus movement, the report showed.

The total number of suspected Islamists marks a drop from the year earlier, but the report said that did not mean the threat had diminished.

"In fact the opposite is the case," the report said, citing a shift toward "a more violence-prone and terrorist spectrum ..."

The report said hundreds of "jihadists" had entered the country among the over one million migrants who had come into Germany over the past two years.

BELGIAN FEDERAL PROSECUTOR FEARS AN IMMINENT ATTACK

AlArabia.english

Several suspects are still wanted within the framework of a terrorism case that led on Wednesday to a series of searches in Anderlecht, a neighbourhood of Brussels.

“We can’t exclude a similar scenario as the one of March 22, 2016 Brussels attacks, but for the moment we have no element that goes into that sense of this hypothesis,” said the Prosecutor to Belga, the Belgian press agency.

One day after the searches that led to the arrest of the brothers Saouti, Akim and Khalid, Eric Van der Sijpt the spokesman of the Federal Prosecutor said this morning “We are still looking for several suspects after the raids of last night. We fear that (the suspects) feel cornered after the searches. We fear that they have the same reaction as the March 22, 2016 (Date of the Brussels attacks)”.

The global crime fighting agency’s list was drawn up by US intelligence from information captured during the assault on Isis territories in Syria and Iraq."

A mere 173 fighters would be a blessing. IMHO there are many more, Interpol c.s. just don't know who they are.
