Would you let Casey have a much lighter sentence if she confessed?

No, because I wouldn't believe her now if she said we're in the month of July.

What I'm saying is if you absolutely knew she was going to tell the truth, or if she actually confessed to everything the state has basically put forth, albeit maybe with some minor insignificant changes (as I believe only ICA knows EXACTLY what happened, minute by minute), would you be willing to forgive her?

I think it kills me to not know the truth. I think it kills me that there will never be redemption for ICA. That she'll never feel remorse or love for her child.

I think about how much my mom loves me, and it's almost unbearable to think about a mother not loving her child.

Just like it bothers me that we'll never really know what happened. Probably because of what happened to a member of my own family. I wish I could find my aunt's murderer and just ask WHY. WHY her, what were her last words, etc.? I could almost forgive if I just knew.

If she told the truth that made sense like it was the absolute truth then that would be the step in the right direction. I'd accept 30 years in prison giving her more than enough time to get the rest of it together.

However, this is me living in a fantasy world with Zanny and them. In reality, Casey is allergic to the truth. It'a a waste, a huge waste, to even dream of Casey even telling the truth about the time of day.

Nope. ICA is a liar, does what she wants, and has no conscience. She will never tell the truth about Caylee's last hours, minutes and seconds. and after seeing this trial and the lies formulated to protect her, I think we are better off not knowing.

  • #24
She can't confess. :) She can't talk honestly. Just look what lies she told the LE, 90% for no good reason and I'm sure she knew that those lies will only serve to make her a suspect.
I believe it's habitual and she can not control it.

  • #25
Nope because I wouldn't be able to believe her no matter what she said.

  • #26
IF there was some way to know that she was 100% telling the truth, then yes, I could do that. I'd REALLY like to know exactly what happened. If there wasn't some sure-fire way to know if she was telling the truth, however, I wouldn't believe a word coming out of her mouth.

  • #27
No. That cheapens Caylee's life.

  • #28
No.
This might be bad to say, but, I think she's just not human in the same way the rest of us are. She can't be trusted, ever.
As far as forgiving? Well, I've never been in that position, and I personally feel it's unique to the person/s who have been wronged. I really can't imagine the horror.

Hell no!!!

ICA didn't miss a curfew and lie about what she was doing that made her late.

She MURDERED a child! HER OWN CHILD!

You don't get a lighter sentence for telling the truth now and I don't know how or why anyone would actually forgive her if she told you what really happened now, 3 years later.

The evidence shows that she did what she did, now she should be punished for what she did.

No,
(I think she thinks George did it) She believes her own lies.
Like JA said... Casey is really amazing.

  • #31
Nope. Caylee is just as dead. Casey is just as guilty. So she may as well maintain her lies. They are hers to keep.

  • #32
No, she's a societal threat.

  • #33
Yes- I would give her life instead of death.

I want to know how this baby that we have come to love, died.

And if she really admitted it, fellow WSers, I think we would know if it were truth or not. Because the person speaking on the stand wouldn't be the one we have come to know and despise. It would be like the day CA was telling the truth. Clear as day.

I agree !00% with what Jose Baez said today - "we will never know what really happened in this case. It's never going to happen".

I totally did not understand this statement coming from JB. If I was on that jury I would be thinking "And why is that? Your client knows and apparently she told you that Caylee drowned...so don't you believe it either?"

Maybe if she confessed early on.... but not after costing the taxpayers all of this money for another "magical thinking lie" of a defense...
She wanted to be in the spotlight again... that's probably why she cried when her defense was over today... and if there is a retrial, I won't watch much of it... Her glory day is over.... and hopefully more....
I'm not a taxpayer in Florida... but I feel bad for those who have paid for her defense..!!
Just like her admitting she doesn't work at Universal... she will take a lie as far as she can, until she is proven wrong..!! Baez even admitted today, that Casey looked up Chloroform because of her boyfriends MS...

if the choice was either like it is now:

1. she sits silent with that pouty look on her face with the possibility of walking free and writing books, posing for playboy (snerk)

or

2. she tells the absolute truth (by way of a 100% certain method of getting the truth out of her)and admits her responsibility AND she gets 30 years (no early release)

yes i would agree. the worst punishment for casey is for her to ADMIT she lied and ADMIT it was totally her fault.

No way. There's no way to confess to chloroform searches and timer55 and prove that there was no bodily harm meant to someone. I also think something was done to Amy at least once and possibly twice. Casey could still get out in her fifties and go on to harm an elderly man or woman in attempts to get their money, or even someone's grandchild. Lee would probably still be living and have some kids, too. Another thing, George almost killed himself because of her and she was ready to allow him to go harm most likely Tony or his roommates thinking that they did something. She's evil.

Not at this point. Maybe on day 32, but not now.

The train already left the station 3 years ago...

Yes. Life without parole.
