Now they are saying there is a correction....that it is closed in front of the highrise.

The highrise is an apartment building with maybe 6 or so floors. Mostly older
folks live in it and it the only place to rent except for single family houses.
There may still be a few duplex homes to rent also.

This is the only highrise in the immediate area.

John Street is opposite side of town. The high-rise is an apt complex for seniors. The river flows from there into the part of the river that they are searching, but way downstream from where they are searching at Hwy 19 North.

Anyone have a link to the police scanner?

It is down/broken/defunct and has been for awhile - since before little A. went missing.

I think the flow is the opposite, isn't it? John Street appears to be downstream from Dennison street, near the location where she is believed to have possibly gone into the river. Look at how the river goes from the Lake, and then actually peters out to nothing several miles past John St.

so is there a river running behind the highrise?

Using Google Earth, at the N end (at N Main and E 6th) it almost looks like a spill way back into the river. If that is correct you would be right.

I'm listening to Lewis County, but it's quiet:

http://www.radioreference.com/apps/audio/?ctid=3017

There is a scanner thread link in the members only area. IIRC, and I have not looked downstairs since this story broke, it was said the scanners were turned off.

FRIENDLY REMINDER- if anyone picks up the scanner, grandmaj' who is our scanner mod says what is in the scanner thread stays in the scanner thread. It is OK to link upstairs but no discussion up here.

So please heed GrandmaJ's admonitions or Kimster will likely get out that ray gun. :D

In looking at the map again, I can't tell. You're right, it's a spill way thing, a little tributary, but I may be wrong that it flows from Dennison toward John.

Wenc lives there, she's probably right -

The only thing I can think of is she called someone (the question then would be who she called..) and asked them to bring her a can of gas, then put it in her car (wherever she ran out of gas at).

Another scenario is she ran out of gas somewhere close enough to a gas station, walked there, asked someone to fill up a gas can for her, then walked back to her car and put it in.

Those are the only possible scenarios I can think of as to how you borrow gas.

borrowing gas happens all the time around me. People often have jerry can's for the atv's or other things and will offer it up when someone runs out of gas.

I am not defending the mom, however, I am 38 weeks pregnant and I have A 20 MONTH OLD. There is no way I could walk around on foot to find her. She is wily and in 3 hours time could be miles away.

I would definitely have called 911 IMMEDIATELY, but I don't have a history with LE nor 6 other childrem and I would imagine I have a totally different background than this woman.

Is it just me or does it seem like the media there just shares the same story?....one reporter writes something and then every other media just reprints the same story over and over.

Presser starts in an hour.

I don't have a good feeling about this. :(

Any locals know if crime scene or the medical examiner is on scene near where the road is closed?

not just you....They will have to bring others in to get the story out.....
The area is rural and does not have but one or two reporters and I know
that one reporter was sent from the Charleston,WV tv station!!!!!! I know this
because I called and spoke directly to these people......
