UPSHUR COUNTY, W.Va. (WCHS) — A Silver Alert for a missing elderly woman has been issued by West Virginia State Police, according to K-9 Search and Rescue Services of West Virginia.

Carolyn Sue Gregory, 71, was last seen Wednesday, Sept. 13, at a home in the 1000 block of Goshen Road in Upshur County, troopers said.

Troopers said she could be driving a 2006 green Subaru Legacy Outback with license plate O3V424, adding that she could be driving toward the Clarksburg VA Hospital.

Gregory is described as being 5-foot-3 and weighing 145 pounds with gray hair, blue eyes and a mole on her upper lip.

CLARKSBURG, W.Va. (WBOY) — West Virginia State Police have cancelled a Silver Alert issued Wednesday after the reported missing person was found deceased inside of their vehicle.

According to a West Virginia State Police release, Carolyn Gregory, who was reported missing on Wednesday, Sept. 13, was found deceased inside her vehicle around 7:05 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 16, by a civilian search party. The vehicle was located over an embankment along Wolfgang Road near Rock Cave in Upshur County.

Members of the Buckhannon Detachment of the West Virginia State Police are investigating the motor vehicle accident and death, but no foul play is suspected, the release said.
