I came late to Ericka being missing. I'm really disgusted by what I've seen. According to Deputies in Kanawha County, West Virginia expand search for missing teen girl on 8/13; they went through phone records and surveillance video; which led them to believe she may be in Athens or Columbus Ohio or Wood County, WV. Her parents even reached out to the FBI; seems like none were taking this seriously even though it appeared she met an older man online.

It sounds like a miracle that she was found.

She was found deceased This child was found on the river bank across the river from the town I was raised in..So sad to think it has came to this too.The one being questioned is from the town itself.

I'm wondering if it was close to the bridge there across the Ohio River. The bridge extends way over land before it ends therefore if dropped over at night maybe miscalculated the waters edge. Hitting shore line instead of the water IYKWIM....IMO

I am confused about this arrest. Seems to be some mixed messages whether it is connected to this tragic case or not.

Ericka's pix really get to me. She looks so sensitive and sweet. I think probably very naive. :rose:

A friend of mine said that the waters have been very high. My friend thought she was put there while it was high; but the waters dropped really, really fast because they opened the flood walls. When the water went down so fast, she probably got hung up. From what my friend was telling me of the WV side; it's very well kept; always tons of boaters & jet ski's. It's a miracle that the people working on the jet ski's went down on the Ohio side through all of the brush when there is a beautiful park and boat docks on the WV side.

The woman's name nor the name of the person in custody are being released at this time.

She was found 3 or 4 miles north of the Bridge when I search the address it shows where she was found.Also this is north of the Riverfront park.

Unless her family is wrong, that is Ericka - just some articles are saying a "woman's body" (which the "woman" seems to be what's causing confusion since most wouldn't really use that on a young teen - especially one who looks as young as Ericka does)

It's all the same details, only this is including the reference to believing it's Ericka and her family saying it is (just as her mom did yesterday on FB)

A body, believed to be that of a missing Kanawha County teenager, has been found in Meigs County, Ohio.... they found the body wrapped in a clear tarp with a strap around the waist and a cement block tied to it stuck in the mud.

I think this is key - clearly police confirmed it to the family (and her mom seems absolutely clear it IS Ericka) - it's only media it wasn't confirmed to yet.

Family members of Ericka Brown are saying on social media that it is her body that has been found. Police have not yet confirmed the victim's identity to the media.

I'm actually VERY encouraged that Ericka was FOUND at 11 am Saturday, and within hours her parents had confirmation it was her.

That has to mean there was some darn good evidence it was her, probably even visually in terms of something there, given it was under 4 hours between her body having been found and her mom posting so on FB.

A very realistic looking ID he showed the police now turns out to be fake.

In court for the first time Thursday morning, he requested an attorney, postponing the rest of the preliminary hearing.

"We identified him through their facial recognition program, the state of Pennsylvania. And looking at the pictures and some of the other characteristics about Mr. Walker's face. I think that WVWoman is pointing out that there are sex traffickers working in that area. It may have nothing at all to do with this case, and probably doesn't. Those are known prostitutes running around with that guy.

I'm curious what this young girl was in the hospital for. They keep alluding to it as if it has something to do with her up and disappearing. Maybe they admitted her for drug or alcohol abuse, possibly a mental evaluation of some kind, and when she got out she was none too happy about it.
It seems as though it may very well have something to do with her state of mind and this whole situation.

She's mad at Mom and Dad, meets some sympathetic stranger online, and runs off with him. (That'll show 'em !!)

I know it was her that was found; I'm the one that posted last night. I think you're replying to the posts not realizing who is replying to what lol. I'm going through the thread because I missed posts so I see who's replying to what comment. People are still wondering if the link you posted of the guy that was arrested was connected or not.

I'm heart broken to say that she was found deceased by a river bank. Her mom announced it in her FB group. </3

Rest in peace. I hope her family will have answers as to what happened. Hoping that LE treat her family better now then they have been Prayers to her family and loved ones

I was trying to clarify and show that the two articles about the woman found seem to be about Ericka (despite some awkward wording) given the details in the two are essentially identical and also match with what her mom said since it seemed like some thought there was another woman found and that that was what the POI was in connection to.

Or else I've totally misunderstood posts.
