Identified! WV - Fayette Co, Remains found in Hilltop, Oct 2019 - Georgia Stone

HILLTOP, WV (WVNS) — Fayette County Sheriff’s Deputies are investigating human remains found in the Hilltop area. Sheriff Mike Fridley said the remains were found over the weekend. They believe the remains have been there for a while, and it could take longer to determine the identity.

“We are not going to prematurely speculate or assume who the person may be, we have to lay some groundwork and conduct a thorough search of the area for other clues and evidence." Sheriff Mike Fridley said in the release. "We are working with the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner to assemble as much information as possible.”

That article is for a different set of remains. It says Beckwith and they were found on a Wednesday, article is dated in July. The remains in this thread were found in Hilltop on a weekend day in October. There's about 14 miles between Beckwith and Hilltop: Google Maps

I'll start a new thread for the Beckwith remains if they were not already identified.

ETA: I can't find anything official identifying the Beckwith remains but I believe LE knows who it was as it was found inside a home: Human skeletal remains found in Fayette County - WV MetroNews

That case is unrelated to this one.

UPDATE: HILLTOP, WV (WOAY) – Human remains found in Hilltop are those of a missing Fayette County woman from 2016.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has confirmed that human remains which were submitted to them for testing are those of Georgia M. Stone. Stone was reported missing in December of 2016 in the Hilltop area.

Georgia's NamUs profile moved up onto the dashboard there today. Perhaps they are preparing to remove it from NamUs? Or are still investigating the circumstances of her case?

Sincere condolences to her loved-ones. If the circumstances require justice, I hope there will be. She looks like such a kind person.
