Initial reports to the Sheriff's Department did not put Cruz in the category of "Missing or Endangered," but new information has come to light that she may have been the victim of foul play.

Sometimes I think Fayette County is home to some kind of sci-fi warp portal or black hole or stargate or something.

I can only imagine that rural areas are so much harder to search than urban ones, and with West Virginia's geographic make up, it's got to be a nightmare to do a proper search.

True. And Fayette is particularly rough -- deep gorges, very heavily wooded in many areas.

Cruz was last seen in Deep Water, West Virginia on April 1, 2016. She left her mother's residence in the 1100 block of Boonesboro Road after an argument and was last seen running into the woods, towards the water. She has never been heard from again.

Investigators don't believe Cruz necessarily met with foul play, but they do think she is probably dead. Her case remains unsolved.

This seems to be one of those cases where they know absolutely nothing. I can't even find anything from her mother regarding her state of mind when she ran off, or what the argument was about.

If there's a black hole, you'll probably find 5 Italian kids in it.

Right? Pretty sure those kids never left their family's property, sadly.
I never bought the theories that they survived either. People obviously played cruel jokes on them. (Plus there's no Sicilian Mafia in Fayetteville.)
