Morgantown to Granville is about 2.4 miles.

I wish they'd be more specific. River Road (which becomes Lower Hildebrand for a while before reverting back to River) loosely parallels Fairmont Road (US Hwy 19) for miles between Fairmont and Morgantown. There's a huge swath of sparsely-populated, hilly terrain between them, a lot of which is forested.

Hoping she is just taking a break and will be back at home soon. Very bothersome re her car being found but no trace of Osborne. Does she want to be found? Foul play?
Hoping some friends or family have some ideas about where she might be and/or have heard from her.

I think it's here. Thoughts?

Is she missing from the Hildebrand Lock and Dam over the Monogahela River? Was her car found at the dam, or nearby? Phone? Did she bring it along to take pictures, or leave it in the car?

Was she alone when last seen?

Sgt. Bailey at the State Police Morgantown detachment, who said teams searched the Monongalia River on Tuesday, but Osborne has not yet been found.

Rumors that Osborne’s body was recovered from the river began swirling through town late Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning.

“Highly denied,” Bailey said when asked about the rumors.

Bailey said law enforcement is following some leads on the case, but could not discuss specifics or confirm or deny if foul play is a factor at this point in the investigation.

Pings from Osborne’s phone to area cell phone towers stopped the evening of May 12. Until additional data returns, it is unclear if her phone battery died or if the phone was intentionally turned off.

Search for missing Morgantown woman continues, family’s outlook bleak

The Dominion Post spoke with Osborne’s older brother, Tom Osborne, on Tuesday. Acting as a spokesperson for the family, he said they are very grateful for the work and dedication they have seen from the state troopers working the case and were impressed to see specialists from Charleston brought onto the case.

However, due to the amount of time that has passed and the added police presence on Tuesday, they “fear the worst,” he said.

While they have not been told anything about Tuesday’s investigation, Tom said “clearly they have a reason to believe that Kim may be in this area if they are looking in this wooded area.”

Multiple police vehicles were also seen Tuesday at the Sunny Inn on River Road, near the entrance to Hildebrand Lock and Dam Road. According to the West Virginia Secretary of State’s office, the business is licensed to Joe Nevera.

Osborne’s family said Nevera is her former boyfriend, and they are suspicious that he is somehow involved in her disappearance.

Edited to add- he has not been charged with anything related to Osborne’s disappearance BUT

“Nevera was taken into custody on May 23 on charges related to a parole violation. He is currently being held at North Central Regional Jail.”

The Dominion Post spoke with Osborne’s brother Tom on Tuesday, who said the family is now offering a $10,000 reward for information that leads to her return.

West Virginia State Police (WVSP) on the case located Osborne’s vehicle early in the investigation and crime scene units were present near the River Road area where she was last seen, but nothing has gotten them closer to finding her.

Police have also canvassed any potential routes she may have taken and made contact with residents who have home security camera video but have come up empty. However, there is a possibility that houses were missed.

I can't believe she's been missing a month already. Is this the first we've seen this window of time mentioned?

From your link:

If members of the public, specifically in the area of Fairmont Road and River Road, have any surveillance video of the truck Osborne was driving, a gold 2001 Chevy Silverado, between the hours of 7:30 p.m. on May 12, to 7 a.m. on May 13, they are asked to contact the West Virginia State Police.

This investigation is the result of a seven-month coordinated effort by multiple law enforcement agencies, including the Monongalia County Sheriff’s Office, West Virginia State Police, ATF, FBI Pittsburgh Field Office and the Monongalia County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.

The case has officially been ruled a homicide, and the investigation is still ongoing.

i saw it on facebook today. Does police have any suspects?
The police have not announced any suspects. There is an article linked above that states her family believed her ex, Joe Nevera, was involved. Her phone last pinged near the business he owns, her remains were found not far from that, and police arrested him on a parole violation a little less than 2 weeks after her disappearance.

The release said multiple search warrants were issued on property Nevera owned along the River Road area. The ongoing investigation over the course of the last few months led investigators to take Nevera into custody.

Nevera was taken into custody on the charge of first-degree murder.

Detectives with the Monongalia County Sheriff’s Office said in the complaint that “Osborne told multiple people approximately a month before her disappearance that if something happened to her, Joe Nevera was responsible.” She also told witnesses that Nevera had “showed her an open grave at an unknown location and threatened her that if she did not change her behavior, she would end up there,” the complaint said.

Forget about ever having a bad day in Kim Osborne’s presence.

One of her patented, droll asides would have you reduced to guffaws in about a second.

In the next second, you might find yourself corralled into karaoke … where being off-key didn’t count, because it was, well, karaoke.

And if she throttled up the ATV, forget it. It also didn’t count, unless one of those wheels (at least) caught air at the cresting of the hill.
