WV WV - Leah Hickman, 21, Huntington, 14 Dec 2007 - #2

I am a private investigator out of WV working on the Leah Hickman case. If any of you still have your accounts and are wanting to share any information please do not hesitate to reach out, you will be kept anonymous. I attended Leah's funeral in 2007, and I knew the family very well. Justice for Leah is the only thing that matters, still today.

I don't know what kind of motive she might have had for wanting to hurt or kill Leah. Strangulation takes a lot of work; that's an involved effort that often suggests personal connection to a victim. I wonder if Jessica's boyfriend at the time was the actual murderer, and he and Jessica both conspired to hide the body and give each other alibis?
I really, really don't want to be suspicious of Jessica because it feels horrific that a mother should have to deal with the idea that one daughter killed her other daughter, or at least participated in the cover-up of the murder, but...

They lived together. Jessica knew the layout of the building. She is the last person that saw her alive. She had an ex-boyfriend that didn't get along with Leah. It feels incredibly convenient that Jessica just decided on a whim to spend Friday night with her boyfriend. The police have never confirmed her alibi and that she didn't return home until that Saturday afternoon. She comes home and it's suspicious, but Jessica doesn't call her mother Sherry and tell her to come home? Then there's Jessica talking about the laundry room, as if she's laying a seed.

It just feels like the only other possibility is that Leah Hickman had some kind of stalker that no one knew anything about, never any hints about, and they knew enough about the apartment building that they put her there.
