The residential part of the neighborhood around S. Heber Street that I viewed via Google Maps looks a bit run down, but other parts of the business end look better. I may not have seen all of S. Heber, however, so I'm not sure what part of S. Heber he was near.
Hoping he shows up or his found safe and sound soon.

I haven’t been back to Beckley in 10+ years so anything I share about my hometown is probably a little outdated. Any how, the area he went missing from isn’t the worst areas of Beckley. It’s near downtown and near some shady places. Beckley’s crime was pretty bad when I left, 15 years ago. I can’t say for certain if it’s still as bad but I would guess so, In my opinion. I hope this boy is found soon! He is so young.
