The other thing I notice about the eyes is that after 5 days you will begin to see the color changing from a deep purple to a brownish/yellow even around the edges...
Not for everyone though.
I have a Connective Tissue disorder & my bruises stay purple for a few weeks. The one pictured lasted for months & stayed purple for weeks. The 2nd one was taken 3 weeks after I did it. :(
People like me don’t bruise the way that I do & for the period of time that I do. But 1 in 5000 people have a Connective Tissue disorder (like I do) & may not even know it. It is possible that she has this kind of disorder. Not everything is textbook.

In response, it seems like persons that have faked eye injury have focused on upper eyes area... While her pictured injury mimics open hand injury to face/orbital area.
Possible. I've had a black eye before, and have seen others. Usually I've seen at least some swelling?

You're right about not everything being textbook, and I agree there are differences in people with a CTD or MCTD (mixed). I'm familiar.

Okay, I made an account to specifically post this. My qualifications are that I have been an EMT for 12 years and have two family members that do amateur MMA. I came across this story and looked at the black eye pictures I need to voice my objection from experience:
These black eyes, in no way to me, look genuine. One, in the height of punching any slight movement on the part of the intended victim or the individual throwing the punch can greatly change the impact spot. To be given two black eyes without other visible damage (in the same stage of healing) is almost unheard of. Imagine two successful punches to the eyes (opposite sides, so take in to consideration that two different angles of punch would be needed) without the person moving and getting hit and bruised in other areas of the face that easily split or bruise.
Second, with black eyes there is substantial amount of swelling more often than not. Neither eye looks swollen.
But let's assume that he connected two shots with the eyes and swelling has been minimal/non-existent (a stretch, but I will entertain it).
Neither under eye lid is discolored. Black eyes (non fictional make up ones) extend to the eye lid as well. Make up ones usually don't because of the movement of the eyelids and the smearing/make up in eye possibilities.
But the most important thing to notice is that neither eye is even remotely red nor any signs of broken capillaries. The vessels in our eyes are easily broken/irritated and take time to heal. I have NEVER seen a black eye from punch or true accident that did not also effect the whites of the eyes.
Now, sure, this could be a one in a million situation where all of these factors combined and he could have done something to her and then directly implicated himself as much as possible online, but in my experience the damage is lacking any of the normal signs except I saw a similar look from someone who had been slammed to a wall hard enough it blacked her eyes like that. I couldn't believe it. Not vouching or arguing if this injury is genuine or not.

I had seen a similar look to that bruising where an inmate had been slammed to a wall. The back of the head had hit the wall but was able to black both eyes. Of course, I didn't see it happen, only the official story and aftermath.

I had the same initial impression. Blackened eyes are usually more asymmetric, these are almost perfectly symmetrical and exactly the same color.

This looks like some other sort of injury to me or make-up.

Of course we have no idea how old they might be which may have evened them out a bit.
Missing West Virginia Mom Disappears, Then Friends Start Receiving Utterly Bizarre Messages From Her Facebook Account

I’m not sure if what is stated is true but according to this article the incident causing the black eyes were from a week before she sent photo to the counselor.

Haley-Scott reportedly sent the message to Krissy Musallam around 2:30 p.m. Friday, telling Musallam she had been “beaten pretty bad” by her estranged husband the week before.”

In your opinion could falling down a flight of stairs cause a person’s eyes to black like this? I’m genuinely curious as I have no background knowledge on the subject.
The reason I ask about stairs is because that is how she got the injuries according to whoever was sending those bizarre messages.

The increasingly bizarre messages went on to declare that “her husband is a great police officer” and claimed that she had gotten the black eyes from falling down the steps.”

What I also noticed is that the people she had been staying with, the Vs, stated Mary had left their home on Tuesday, while the black-eye selfies were sent Friday, with Mary claiming her husband had beaten her up the week before. Unless that was poorly or wrongly written, that timeline just doesn't seem to work, IMO.
She apparently had looked fine to the Vs just 3 days before she went missing.

‘Find her body then, buddy’: Friends, family suspect someone took over missing mom Mary Haley’s Facebook account after post says ‘I’m a Wh**e’ [EXCLUSIVE]

Jeff Pike, a private investigator who operates Complete Surveillance and Investigative Services in Wytheville, Virginia, told CrimeOnline that he had heard from Haley several months ago, when she called him for a consultation. During that phone conversation, Haley said she worried her husband was tracking her car and her phone, and indicated she was scared of him, Pike said. Pike recommended that she contact a lawyer, but it is not known if she did, and Pike did not have any further communication with her.

Multiple sources said that Haley, who has at least one daughter and appears to have moved around between different counties in Virginia and West Virginia in recent years, had indicated she was fearful of her husband and had tried to get a divorce, but he would not sign the papers.

“He would beat the sh**out of her,” said Alesha Buck, a distant cousin of Haley’s who worked at her retail store in Marion, Virginia, last year before Haley closed it.

“I’ve seen bruises.”

Leaves me with even more questions. Wouldn't the friends she'd been staying with have known of and noticed her injuries from a beating? There is more to this story, for sure. I believe she's alive at this point and hope she's located ASAP. I don't yet know what to make of all the strange FB messages.

UPDATE: Missing woman says estranged husband and man beat her and threatened to kill her

A Criminal complaint filed by MCH-S alleges that her estranged husband and another man beat her and threatened to kill her.

WOAY has obtained a copy of the criminal complaint that she filed against her estranged husband William Scott.

The complaint says that on December 3, 2019, at 9:50, Haley-Scott left her friend’s home to go to the local store.

Haley-Scott says she stopped to have a call in a local church parking lot when she was speaking to her co-partner Steve and a friend by the name Frank Slavin II.

Haley-Scott says she was pulled out of the car by her husband, William Scott, and another man, who began to punch her in her face and choked her. Haley-Scott then begins to ask her friend for help who she was on the phone with and he called 911 in Walton County, Florida, not knowing she wasn’t in Florida.

Haley-Scott began to run away and told them someone was on the phone and they know what’s happening.

Haley-Scott says she was “punched over and over in the face and told next time it will be a bullet to my head.”

The complaint was filed on Monday, December 9, 2019, at 3:40 am in Wythe County, VA.

In the last article I just posted it states she was on the phone with Steve when her husband pulled her from the car. I’m assuming this Steve is the same one mentioned in other articles??

Wythe County investigators don't believe missing WV woman to be in the area

A day after Haley-Scott filed the complaint against her husband, she was indicted in Smyth County on a grand larceny charge. Haley-Scott had not been served on that charge before her disappearance. Because it is an un-served direct indictment, details regarding the charge are not publicly available.

So does this mean she was unaware of the charges that were being filed against her? (Not being served yet)

Good question that I don't know the answer to. Grand jury indictments are secret until served, but she probably would have known something might be up, sooner or later. This is all pretty confusing.

I totally agree. I used to volunteer at a shelter for domestic violence victims. I've seen some black eyes and they always include swelling and/or discoloratioan of the upper part of the orbital area.

My gut says this lady is suffering from a mental illness. And I think it's much more likely she's a runner than a victim of DV. MOO
