So glad for them and their families. We need more missing persons cases to have a good ending like this. So happy for them. Its cold up there in the mountains. Brrrrrrrrr
I read when the helicopter spotted them that they already had a fire going so I think that may have helped the helicopter to spot them. Its good that they had fire starter (eg matches, lighter, etc.) with them.
When I go hunting in remote woods I always bring a home made "first aid" kit and I probably have overkill of stuff but I always bring things like fire starter and waterproof matches, a snake bite kit, knife, gauze bandages, etc. My homemade kit never leaves my backpack. Its still in there now waiting on my next trip to the deep woods.
