Many posts about safety and such. I keep thinking... you dont have to start the car to turn on the headlights. Wouldnt it be best to try to save the battery in the day and turn on the headlights at night? So helicopter might see it? Or blow the horn? If they searched overhead with any heat detection, you would think they would have seen headlights

While I can totally understand the frustration, disappointment and anger people feel toward LE when such a tragic ending is the result of a search/investigation, I think we all need to remember that life, crimes and other things needing LE are still going on the entire time. There are only so many resources and so many people that can be dedicated to ONE case. In my opinion only, Aubree was prioritized until it wasn't feasible or possible to prioritize her. Until, and if, we are able to know the cause and approximate time of her death blame shouldn't be pointed in any direction. Hindsight is always eagle eyed.
I don’t think she was ever prioritized as she should have been simply because of her criminal record. It seems like LE thought she’d probably just disappeared because she didn’t want to deal with the legal issues she had, and she’d turn up eventually.

Is it known if she did her UA that morning? In the beginning someone, I think her sister, said she had done that and got lost on the way back. In more recent posts, I’ve seen it said that she didn’t ever get there to do it.

Wow. You are a tough, wonderful family. We won't forget Aubree here.
Thank-you! Still waiting for Aubree's body post autopsy to finalize funeral services. When we have information I will be sure to post. Thank-you so much for all of your help, thoughts, prayers and support!

When LE was called Sunday July 14th we were told that they had their annual "Rendezvous" going on and did not have extra officers to go track down the BFs camp but if we got a general area they would TRY to get out to the camp. We called them about 2:00 pm with camp information, but they did not make contact until evening. Meanwhile, we were being told that maybe she just needed a "mommy vacation" or she was one of the drunks at the "Rendezvous". So right off the bat she was being judged, even though we kept telling them she would not do that.

I think that would probably only last one night but it's something I never thought of. Smart!! Also someone could turn on the vehicle when they hear helicopters at night.

Your posts are true and logical. However my emotions are not, and in this case I agree with TristanP. Though we don't know how Aubree died yet, if she laid out there and died alone due to an injury, I'm going to really wonder if LE did all they could to find her as quickly as possible. If my heart hurts this way, I can't imagine how her family feels :(

I'm a big supporter of LE and frankly it would be like finding a needle in a haystack. But I do think they could've maybe tried more. Do we know if they have any policies about how long they conduct searches?

It is concerning that this young lady may not have been given the consideration she deserved due to her criminal history.

Reading this account makes me sick to my stomach for her and you. I can see not having the person-power given an event. But, to say that she needed a "mommy vacation" or she was drunk is so disrespectful. It makes me angry so I can only imagine how it makes your family feel.

I am so sorry!

This is what I found for Sublette County Search and Rescue: Search & Rescue | Sublette County - Official Website

They have a volunteer group (Tip Top Search and Rescue) of about 40 people. No word on how long they will search. They were involved with the Aubree search before it was suspended. Their Facebook page has the grid search that was done for Aubree and the Sheriff's announcement suspending the search as well as the request for no volunteer searches, even though they were suspending the search for her.

Sheriff references the team and efforts here on July 17:
"During the search operations, Tip Top Search and Rescue members as well as the contract helicopter were deployed to the Union Pass area in an extensive search for Miss Corona. Fremont County Search and Rescue deployed a similar response on their side of the pass in a coordinated search effort. An extensive grid search of the entire area between Green River Lakes and Dubois Wyoming were conducted over the last two days. As of Tuesday evening, the search of the entire area resulted in no signs of Miss Corona or the vehicle she was reported to be in." Tip Top Search and Rescue

I don't know where she was found in relation to the grid search map photo.

UA? I thought she had to do a Breathalyzer?

Well, I’m not sure exactly, but it was a test to make sure she was sober. A breathalyzer would be kinda stupid for LE to request, because it would be easy for her to not drink alcohol until after the test. A UA that detects alcohol as well as other substances makes more sense to me, because usually the conditions of being released on bond require the person to abstain from any alcohol or drug use. Plus, a UA would detect things used over the past few days whereas a breathalyzer alone would only indicate alcohol use in the immediate hours before the test.

I’ve worked in corrections and all the people I saw come in on probation violations, etc., that were caught using something were caught by a dirty UA.

This involved two Sheriff's offices.
Aubree disappeared from Sublette County who appeared to take the lead.
Disorientated/Lost, she crossed over to Fremont County via Union Pass.

Sublette County Sheriff's office does not dispute the Fremont County Sheriff's office statement.

This means, whether released or not to the public, the last sighting of her was a couple of miles from where the vehicle was located.

This is unbelievably tragic to read!

So close within searching distance......why wasn't she found?
I feel like they called off searching way too soon.
What happened to her out there?

RIP Aubree. I feel so sad for your family and friends who worked so hard to find you.

I agree with every word you said! If SAR resources were not available call for other agencies. Maybe they did and I missed that? Forest Service, State agencies, private organizations?

I feel awful for the volunteer SAR people. They have to do as told by LE and are not allowed to continue searching if told to stand down. I am sure they are all probably feeling pretty bad that they didn’t find her especially if they searched close to where she was eventually found.

This post from VI, @montanagirl15, indicates AC was going for a Breathalyzer. Just trying to keep info correct :).

"No she did not make her appointment for her breathalyzer. She sent a text to BF around 3:00 that she was on the Dubois side of the mountain and was putting gas in the truck, getting a map and heading back.

Bottom line is I am truly sorry for whatever happened to Aubree. Neither she nor her babies deserved this. I wish all searchers set out with the idea that this could be their own daughter/sister/wife/mother who's lost. Like most family, I could never stop or give up until they were found.

Aubree made her testing Friday.

It was a breathalyzer

Wait a sec. That leaves some room for questions. @montanagirl15 I'm not sure how I got this story but I understood that was the whole reason Aubree left the campsite and I assumed the ice was an afterthought? So if she took her breathalyzer on Friday July 12th. Why was she headed to town on Saturday July 13th? Im not sure where that narrative came from?

Yeah now I’m super confused.

But I’ve been confused soooo nothing new.

Our understanding is that she was to do her breathalyzer morning and night. They arrived in Pinedale Friday so she did her pm breathalyzer Friday evening in Pinedale and was heading into Pinedale for her morning test and was taking a cooler from camp to bring ice back to camp after her test.
