I have read most of the details and just have to ask where was the truck financed thru? Buy Here/Pay Here and some other finance companies place a GPS unit under the dash in case they were to ever have to repo.

Hmmm, yeah. After reading about how many lakes are in the area she was in, I think the truck (either with or without her in it) is underwater. Purposefully, leaving no trace.

I'm going to agree with the water theory, due to OnStar not being connected. But, I'm not so sure about the "purposefully" part.

If it were purposefully, there are a lot of directions that could go in.
1 - Aubree herself
2 - Logger(s)
3 - Random Abductor
4 - People known to Aubree (it seems to me that if this were the case, everyone at the camp would have to know at least a little something.)

Looking at this, I think the most likely scenario is an accident.

Although I still can't get past the logger(s).

I'm unclear about how this works, so bear with me; I believe there are phone apps such as Google maps, etc. that can be accessed from someone's gmail account (or other cloud-based services) to see where they have been. These would have a timestamp.

Sorry this post is all over the place. I can't stop thinking about Aubree.

I'm not sure what their situation was and it could be irrelevant, but there are dealers and finance companies that do that. I think any lead could help.

I'm in IL and own a dealership, and yes, it is absolutely legal (details are put into the financing paperwork). It is done in the event someone quits paying on a vehicle that has been financed - it helps us locate for repossession

Interestingly, they aren't necessarily removed after the vehicle is paid off either. A 2nd owner may still have the whole setup on their vehicle even if previous owners paid in full. They are often spliced into the starter and powered using the car battery, can make it impossible to crank the car so repo agents can come get the car right then. Technically, the car can be tracked and keep one from cranking the car even after the vehicle is paid in full. That part should be illegal, 2nd owners shouldn't have to deal with that.

But if the car had one and he is a 2nd owner maybe the original car lot/ finance company would be able to view location with the right encouragement! May depend on the model idk.

Agreed, but personally, we pay quite a bit for them, there is no way I'm leaving it on the vehicle once paid off. That's just one less unit that I need to buy going forward

They cannot do anything if you (the new owner) remove it. So, this is info that they probably wouldn't want the regular Joe on the streets to have knowledge of, is it?

I'm not a local but I tried! I mapped Aubree's route, New Fork Lakes to Dubois, and Jose's route, Riverton to the landfill on Sand Draw which is about 10 miles southeast of downtown Riverton on Highway 135.

Here's a screenshot of a map of Aubree's route. The top black arrow points at Riverton, where Jose started, and the bottom black arrow points to the approximate location of the landfill, which was his destination (but he didn't arrive). As you can see, Aubree's area and Jose's area are near-ish to each other but it's not the same highway. Hope that helps!

I do wish LE would use thermal imaging as soon as the alert comes in. I don’t know how it works, but with today’s technology, I would think low flying drones, aircraft would be able to get some “hits”. Sure, animals would show, but a body is bigger than most animals. It’s the non moving thermal images that would be good.
Is there some type of imaging, drone shots that would indicate large metal things? Kind of like a metal detector in the sky?

Purposefully without her in it and then riding out of the area on the motorcycle that was in the back of the truck, leaving no trace?
If I read correctly, she was bonded out of jail a month or so earlier. Perhaps absconding?

That’s a good theory.... to lots of people (like myself) all motorcycles look pretty much the same and I think that would be way harder to locate. I can only hope this is what happened!! Sigh
