In my opinion this is a very big mess... right from the start! And i know that everyone wants aubree found... it is very sad that it seems both family's might have had major misunderstandings right from the start

In your opinion, what kinds of misunderstandings between the families have led her her not being found yet? Where do you think she is?

Im my opinion miscommunication between family's and prob anger... in my opinion bf's family was prob told what to do by LE and maybe that wasnt completely relayed back to other family.. i have no idea where she could be.. but going by news articles she isnt on that mountain

What we were told is that the truck did have OnStar and it at one time was activated. If it had never been activated they might have been able to go in through the factory settings. Otherwise, if the truck owner was not subscribed to services, pushing the blue OnStar button would activate emergency services anyway, with or without a subscription. However, the truck Aubree was driving had the OnStar DISABLED. Disabling would mean the OnStar fuse had been removed. OnStar was not able to provide a date of when that occurred as there was no subscription.

thank you, i'm understanding now.

As a very outside observer and only that, what I see is that both families are gutted by Aubree's vanishing. Just a suggestion, it may well serve LE to play both sides against the other to uncover whatever information they can. I think ALL want Aubree found. It is stressful times for everybody. I am sorry you're all having to endure the understandable feelings of anger and bewilderment and helplessness. May Aubree be found soon.

Agree.

But after reading here I think there are only two options:

1. The truck crashed somewhere and Aubree is deceased.

2. She is on the run and has been lucky.

I think OnStar was disabled long before they even went camping, for whatever reason.

I don't know Aubree or anybody else connected with this tragic story. What I do know is that most, not all, I am sorry to realize, but MOST mammas do not willingly abandon their children. That said, I will be happy yet and still if Aubree is found alive. I'm sorry that I doubt she will be.

As Aubree's family we agree! Had we not had all the misunderstandings from day 1 we might have been able to work together and possibly resolved this mystery before now.

From the posts by Missophia1 and what our family has experienced, it sounds like whatever information was initially given to LE caused them to believe there would be problems between the families making them issue warnings to both families rather than facilitating communication between them. Unfortunately, that lack of communication, prevented the families from working together towards a common goal of finding Aubree. I believe that created a delay in looking for Aubree and wasted valuable time. So sad when we could have been working as a team...

There is a post on the Sublet County Sheriff's site with a message and phone number from the BF's sister?.
Uncertain whether this has been brought to the family's attention or not as have not had time to read all of this thread.

As for where Aubree may be, we have played what seems like an endless series of horrible scenarios in our minds! While countless hours have been spent searching both sides of the mountain and we're fairly sure Aubree is not on the surface (still wondering about lakes) of the mountain, we still wonder did we miss something, was there an area we didn't look, could she somehow have gotten over on the Native American reservation where we were not allowed to search? Did she somehow find a way to get into the wilderness area surrounding the campgrounds? Was she not paying attention when she stopped for gas and directions and someone slipped into the passenger seat and she did not notice until it was too late? Is she still even in Wyoming... the thoughts never stop! We are desperate to find any information that may point is in the right direction to find Aubree! Her children are devastated! Her 7 y/o cries for her and her 3 y/o asks if we're going to look for mommy. All of our hearts are just broken

This is heartbreaking. Are the NA authorities from the reservation aware that she could have stumbled on to their land? I wish there was more we could do to help. I’m praying you find her soon!

So heartbreaking to hear about Aubree's children. From what I have read about her, I don't think she willingly disappeared either. I truly believe she got lost and went off road/in water.

Wishing all of her family and loved ones comfort and anwers as to Aubree's whereabouts soon.

Very classy of you to post this. Best of luck finding her. I have to think she will be proud that both sides came together to look for her.

@montanagirl15 the logger had contacted law enforcement and reported that he was leading her off the mountain but she was no longer behind him. Have you been in contact with the Fremont County Sheriff's Office to see what time that call came in?

There is a big gap between the approximate 12:30 PM time in the Sheridan Creek area and the approximate 3:00 PM text message while she was not all that far from Dubois at that point.

@montanagirl15:

If the convenience stores/gas stations AC stopped at and bought something have computerized point-of-sale registers and you know what she bought, can they go back in their sales records for that day and find out what was sold and the time it was sold?

That might help determine when exactly she stopped at each location, especially if their surveillance system has recorded over the footage for that day or isn't working.

Edited for clarity

Great idea. She bought a map, and the date and approximate time range is known so it could be possible to find the time of the transaction even if she used cash. The Sheriff's Department (Fremont County) might be able to get that, if they hadn't already done so. If that has been obtained then Sublette Sheriff should have it. Of course, law enforcement may not share that and if not then the only alternative is for the family to inquire with the owner/manager to see if they can find the time.

Having some sort of concrete time at a known location would be very useful since all we have to work with are approximate locations at approximate or unknown times.

I also seem to recall our VI mentioning her buying and energy drink and then later possibly a slice of pizza. Plus, her asking directions might help make her more memorable to the cashiers/clerks/owners of these stores/gas stations. Maybe the family could approach them and ask for their help and see if they can't get some more information and get the timeline tightened up.

is there a way of contacting someone there to ask if you can search? or at least let them know about her and keep a look out?

each new day i'm hoping we'll get answers...seems like it was decently covered in the news, but other than this site not much discussion to keep it going. can't even imagine how you and all of Aubree's family feel, montanagirl15. Just know there ARE people who care and want to keep her case alive and won't stop seeking answers.
