Maybe he went to AT&T to have his phone fixed. He said he didn’t have a phone really when stopped. Maybe it wasnt working. Why do u think he bought a phone???
When he was stopped his phone was dead. The chargers were in the van. So until and if he got a charger, he didn't have a phone. LE made sure he got a charger before GP left in the van. You can see this on the video before he gets in the car.

He’s also spending a lot of money, hoping to make a lot of money.

And generating post after post on here. All day long……definitely on Bls trail……found his campsite!! Personal items!
Never mind

MOO theory only. If BL had insurance on his phone, he could have gotten a new one from insurance as replacement. Said he lost his phone,it was broken, etc. Then went to AT&T and got a separate phone with RL. Left his replacement phone at home for LE to find and kept the AT&T phone.

I keep insurance on my phone. If I need to replace it the company sends me a replacement. I box up the broken phone and sent it back to the company. Just thinking out loud. Bouncing an idea.
Why would RL buy him a phone if he got a new one in the mail to her house? Would be pretty risky to bank on her not seeing it. Are we even sure he's got a phone on him?

Only one problem I see with this is that Dog would have to have an article with BL’s scent on it so the K9’s can alert if it a place he’s been. Since RL and CL didn’t let Dog in when he stopped by I’m assuming he doesn’t have an item from the FBI evidence lock up. IMO. They probably won’t give out evidence to him since neither family involved hired him.

speculation
Or they could be using a scent picked up from a ‘known’ location. Say a tip of where he was seen on park cameras. Dog isn’t there to build a court case, he’s just there to find BL. And maybe a little publicity

Ok. But Gabby had lived with them. She didn’t come home. Surely they knew something not right had happened.
That's why her family reported her missing on 9/11. We can't know for sure what the Laundries were thinking, but we all have ideas based on how things have turned out thus far.

not following your logic ...
BL's parents booked him a place at the campsite for the 1st September.
So they knew he was coming home and not staying out in Wyoming.

Regarding Dog Chapman's K9 team: I believe there are some dogs who are trained to pick up the scent of any human that may be in the area without using a personal item to track the scent of a specific person. I guess this would only be helpful in a remote area with very few humans.

Fwiw, not targeted at the OP but rather DC, ALUMINUM DOESN'T RUST, no matter how long it's been exposed to the elements. The paint on that Monster can could probably weather and fade, but still, aluminum doesn't rust.
BBM

Twitter tells me (so, grain of salt) that particular flavor of Monster was released earlier this summer, so it has to be relatively recent. MOO.

May have been processes already and nobody drinks a can by holding the base.

Given that he didn't want to drink out of plastic, do we really think he would drink out of a can, let alone leave it out on the ground?!

I'm having a lot of trouble with this portion of the article: (BBM)
"The NPPD have brought Christopher and Roberta in for questioning plenty of times, and just yesterday the FBI went by the Laundrie home and requested some of Brian’s belongings."

I do not believe they have EVER "gone in", or "been brought in" for questioning.

Brian Laundrie's Parents May Be Forced To Pay For Estimated $1.2 Million Manhunt For Son

WOW! Thank you for posting this …. I think this is news to us that the Laundries have been questioned plenty of times by NPPD!!!!! Since when?????? This is why I don’t trust so many of these articles, because some of these “journalists” seem to write whatever they choose with very little fact checking IMHO

So they knew he was coming home and not staying out in Wyoming.

she made the reservation on Sept. 3 - I thought he was already home then

Any thoughts on the L's doing some type of "service" for Gabby during their camping excursion? That's what LE should be looking for, a memorial set up for her, I could see them doing that. A way to close the door and get Brian to move on.

Nope, I just can't see it. They wouldn't want to think about Gabby any more than that would have to.
Plus, I don't believe BL needs to move on. Not from Gabby any way. He was well and truly done with her and couldn't have cared less.

If Brian spoke to the lawyer alone on the 10th, the lawyer may have told him not to discuss it with anyone. He may have refused to tell his parents anything on the advice of counsel.

That's an interesting point. However, it does seem like the lawyer is now representing Brian's parents. Would a lawyer be able to represent Brian and his parents? I don't know how that works.

I know. Incredible, isn't it?
Does anyone know why the Laundries put their house back on the market so soon after they'd bought it? I wonder if Brian missed Gabby so much and gave them a hard time about it, maybe pressuring them to sell the house and buy another one closer to Long Island, NY.

This brings to my next theory: maybe Brian's parents allowed Gabby to move in with them solely to appease their son. Maybe they never wanted this arrangement, but keeping Brian happy was their priority.

I read somewhere that their present house was in a state of disrepair when they bought it so perhaps they did improvements to it to make a profit by trying to sell it again not long afterwards but could not get the price they wanted so took it off the market. They set up a business so they could work from home and Gabby was useful as she worked for them.

And I can't imagine BL drinking Monster.

I can, if he wanted to stay alert to hear/spot anyone closing in on him.

Is there police or media at the Laundrie house ALL night? Is there ever a time when no one is watching the house? Could he simply have come back home after the police finished their search?
