Good God that’s horrifying. All this time I thought he had actually taken the time and effort to bury her !
Hard to pin down exactly what his thought process was at that point.. In that van, there must have been some sort of instrument he could use as a shovel, he had a certain amount of time on his side.. But that would require clear and logical thinking, and considering his public behaviour up to that point, logic and clarity were not operative.

And his rage. That must have been overwhelming, really.. how much trouble and unpleasant scrutiny she had bought upon him, him, he, who was above all this little vloggy stuff and hard work and was a warrior for nature and all that soft stuff.

I can see him stomping off, full of fury, with that peculiar flatfooted walk (which is why I doubt the App trail story, flat feet ) , not even stopping to pay respect, or to even cover up his own crime, but a cavalier 'up yours' to the world. .

Because that is what it was. Leaving her out there, exposed, subject to animal curiosity, the weather, the dust, the difficulty of her parents finding her.. a big middle finger to it all.

Ok. But Gabby had lived with them. She didn’t come home. Surely they knew something not right had happened.
I wonder if BL called his parents from the road on August 31st, and that's why his mom canceled the reservation for the first camping trip. Maybe he got rid of his phone on the way to Florida or once he got there.

LE said they had the data for both phones, correct? At first a reporter said they had access to live tracking but I think LE only confirmed they had access to the cellphone and GPS data.
At that time there was no mention of the new phone. Imo

Any thoughts on the L's doing some type of "service" for Gabby during their camping excursion? That's what LE should be looking for, a memorial set up for her, I could see them doing that. A way to close the door and get Brian to move on.

HIGHLY doubt it. I could say a lot more but I’ll keep it civil.

I've wondered if they have a RING doorbell or some other type of camera doorbell device.

It would have to be by the door in the screened in area, obviously can't really SEE in there to determine - but possible.

August 24: Brian’s mother initially made reservations for 2 people to camp at Soto Park Campground in Saint Petersberg between September 1-3, about 75 miles north of the family’s home in North Port.

August 31: His mother canceled those reservations for 2 people.

September 1, 10:26AM: A license plate reader installed at an exit from I-75 recorded Gabby’s van entering North Port.

September 3: His mother made a new reservation for 3 people to camp on the weekend of September 6-8.

September 4: Laundrie Lawyer “confirms that a phone was purchased on September 4, 2021 and Brian opened an account with AT&T for that phone (Not a burner.) Brian left that phone at home the day he went for a hike in the preserve on September 14, 2021 and the FBI now has that phone.”

September 6: Brian & his parents checked in to the Fort De Soto Park campground.

September 8: The family checked out out of the campground per the records.

(But according to his family’s lawyer, the family camped out on Sept. 6-7 and that they all left together as a family on the 7th.)

Laundrie family changed De Soto campground reservations before Brian returned home, docs show

“A source who spoke to Fox News on the condition of anonymity used to work at Civic Plus, a software company that manages the De Soto campground's reservation system, and speculates that the Laundries knew their son was coming home on Aug. 31, when they had plans to camp, and canceled them accordingly. They then made a new reservation including their son at a later date.”

This has me thinking that BL’s parents bought this new phone for him as a ruse/in case he had to handover his actual cell phone (that he either likely destroyed, or sank into the bottom of a swamp to make it seem as if he was in the reserve this entire time), so the parents could say he left the new phone at home when he “left for a hike”

Agreed, but it tells us that more likely than not, at the very least he told them he was on his way home (and probably that he was alone) and didn’t just roll into the driveway unannounced. So there was some sort of communication. How much and how truthful, we have no way of knowing at this point, or maybe ever, but this is one small detail we didn’t know before.
It looks like there was also heavy rain in the area during their planned trip, so that could have played a part in the cancellation.

Dog has the Monster can.

Well, I hope he hands it over to LE or gets HIS people to do the DNA testing.
(I don't think this will actually happen.)

If Dog doesn't find him, he's going to look like an amateur.

He can't just go off hunches.....I know that's the way he works, but a bit of proof is a good thing.

Dog also peered in to their windows (or attempted to) so maybe they noticed? /JMO

Possibly. I just find it so strange that out of all of the things happening outside of their home - Dog is what they call 911 for. Can't be bothered to pick up the phone for Gabby's parents but they can absolutely call 911 on Dog the Bounty Hunter.

Can the attorney, after having stated he was representing Brian, absolve himself from this (BL's) case now and only represent the parents?
Especially considering the *original* client is now nowhere to be found?

Yes, you can terminate your representation at any time. It usually says it directly in your engagement letter. It's essentially a contract like any other service contract unless you are appointed by a court.

RSBM

I'm entirely oblivious to many references to movies, tv, music, gaming, etc. So I've learned to google "[mystery phrase or acronym] meaning" and I learn so much!

It even works for mr. Dog:

source: DTBH - What does DTBH Stand For?

On another note, I'm ten pages behind again so please excuse any repetition, but does anyone think that originally the Laundries' plan was for Brian to wander away from the campsite and make his way unnoticed to the Reserve parking area where the Mustang awaited him?

But when the windshield warning note appeared and BL hadn't gotten there yet, the parents had to move it to prevent it being towed?

Of course the Mustang could be BOLO'd once media and LE were aware BL might be in it, but maybe they thought its absence wouldn't be immediately noticed?

Unlikely I know, just pondering. It would make the whole Reserve search a red herring...

MOO
BBM. But Google brings up local stuff first. Ms Trooper is in Australia, so it would not be on the first entries.

Well, yes, the must have known he was coming home alone, otherwise they'd have booked 4 places at the De Soto campsite....one for Gabby too.

But only 3 were booked, so BL must have communicated something to his parents.
They booked the one with 3 on 9/3… That is after he had come home (alone, obviously).

This is assuming Gabby would have gone with them if this were planned prior to Gabby's disappearance. JMO.

He asked the police if they could go there. They may have told them ahead of time.

"The police said we were welcome to knock on the door so we did," Chapman said. "I wanted to tell the Laundries that our goal is to find Brian and bring him in alive."

Brian Laundrie's family called the police after Dog the Bounty Hunter showed up on their property
Good on you finding that link!
I remembered it but did not recall where I saw it.
He did indeed have LE permission to knock.
I'm pretty sure he is well versed in the protocols and courtesies required and expected for an extra-curricular manhunt.
You never know, he may well find him.
Nobody else has.

It would be very apparent that it was a new phone if it contained nothing prior to September 4th, as it would if it was a new phone on a new account. And if it was a new phone on an old acct, there would be no point in getting a new phone. jmo

I'd be surprised if they were not following on Twitter.. or Utube or Facebook or Fox or etc..

I have a hard time believing they have not turned on their tv to watch JB Biunno at noon. Or really, any of the Florida stations because it's heavily covered. Maybe to see if they've found Brian, who knows?

Right, I agree. My posts were about their behavior before 9/10. Other posters were discussing if the parents knew Gabby was killed before Brian even got home or if they had a memorial when they went camping or if the mom got him a burner phone before 9/10.

I personally don't think it's fair to assume knowledge on the part of the parents before LE showed up at their door on 9/10. I think if you are the parents, you'd believe what your kid told you until shown otherwise. I would feel differently if Brian was in and out of prison or something where they had reason to think he was violent. But that's just my personal opinion worth as much as anyone pays for it on this site lol

But right, even in my most generous scenario there's a real WTF moment when LE comes to take the van.
And if he felt entitled enough to slap her repeatedly it seems, in broad daylight on a public street, I don't believe that those parents did not see or hear him slapping her or worse, when they lived in their house.

Do we know that she was buying a burner phone at ATT? Does ATT sell burner phones?

It's hard to keep up in this thread

but I saw earlier and agree ATT doesn't sell burner phones, but they are readily available elsewhere and are pretty cheap. That said there are legit reasons to be getting a phone too. Hell, his parents could have got frustrated when they couldn't reach him when he and Gabby were out west. Thus on his return, his Mom took him to get a better one. Perhaps Brian didn't want it and one reason he left it behind.

In my experience, you would not go to AT&T to get a burner phone. Burner phones don't have contracts or require paperwork. You get a burner phone at Walmart, a gas station, Dollar General, etc. The whole point of a burner phone is that it is not associated with your name.
